This restaurant is really cute, clean and aesthetically pleasing. The waitress was sweet and accommodating (I order bun bo hue with pho noodles and only steak, some people find this extremely annoying) and the service was really quick. Unfortunately the broth was crazy salty. Both the bun bo hue and pho tai broths were very salty. After doctoring them up it was completely edible, but neither of us could eat much more than half. I can’t see myself ever returning.
Finally. We have been searching for months for a Vietnamese restaurant that has a well marinated,flavorful porkchop and fried egg on rice dish for my husband and a chicken broth rice noodle soup with meat and seafood.for me. We had a favorite restaurant that closed and have literally tried over 12 places to find a reasonable replacement..We went on line and read the rather negative reviews before we came but decided to give it a try anyways. –think they must have confused it with the rather dirty unfriendly place next door-PHO 97 impressed us on many levels. It has a modern decor and friendly service staff.We have been here 3 times now and has been consistent each time. The initial impression is of a very clean well run restaurant. The food rivals our old place. Very flavorful stock in the soup ,number 49,and a pork chop dish ,number 38,that is miles above anything we have tried lately.The real icing on the cake is the unbelievably clean,well stocked bathroom. Sometimes I dread going to the bathroom in restaurants as they obviously have not been cleaned for a long time.I had to thank the staff for the care they take. This restaurant is relatively new and we sure hope it stays around for a while. We intend to give them our business..
The service at this restaurant was slow BUT if you are at a restaurant for food, and not the service, this is the place to go. I’ve been to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and I would say this is probably one of the more authentic tasting ones. As for the price, it’s slightly higher, but many Vietnamese restaurants charge around the same price. On a side note, it quite clean and its a great restaurant to go to if you live on the north side.
I had the vermicelli. It was dry and tasteless. The service was non existent.
First time. So when you to a restaurant you would want a good welcoming feeling but not here! When you come in you will see a guy sleeping in a booth in the corner. Yes you heard me right! now lets talk about service and food, the service was just at the point where it is acceptable. We ordered 2 soup pho’s and one rice dish everything was alright but one of the soups were luke warm.The prices are reasonable but other pho restaurants in Edmonton have better deals and better tasting food.
I’ve been here so often in the last couple if weeks. Service can get a little slow but the food comes up piping hot and delicious. And the lady is super sweet and nice. The spring rolls are phenomenal they are super crunchy and moist on the inside. I also highly reccomend the porkchops on rice with ss egg, spicy satay soup, bun bo hue. The cuts of meat they use are delicious and plentiful. Definitely try this place out.
