I happened to be staying close by at the Coast Hotel. It has been raining all day. I was driving on Stoney Plain Road and seen the restaurant. I ordered the Wor Wonton to take back to my room. It was easily AAA. The portion is good for two people. It had a lot of flavours.
Not bad little bit average ,cheap one dish of curry beef plus rice Plus tax $27 oriental noodle house or Thanh Thanh is a lot better for cheaper and more food!I felt slightly ripped off!
We went to the restaurant tonight as a family of 4. The food was ok. When the waiter brought out the bill and we noticed there was a 10% gratitude automatically added to the bill. We asked the waiter and he said the the restaurant’s policy to charge ALL the customers 10% gratitude if a table 1-7 people and 15% for 8 people or more (which we understand). We talked to him and only response he given was that’s the restaurant’s policy, I can’t do anything about that! Manager, if you read this review, please reconsider the 10% automatic gratitude added to the bill. As the customers, we are always based on the good or bad services to give 10-25% tips. DON’T just add the 10% gratitude without the customer’s knowledge! I encourage ALL the customers to triple check your bill before you pay.
Love it here – my favorite Dim Sum in the city. Love the service. A little pricy compared to Chinatown, but the quality is better. There’s always a lot of parking in the lot.
I tried to rate lower but it wouldn’t let me… long story short this place is not even tasty bone app the teeth especially for the 20,000 dollars you’re gonna pay for your meal. Take out portions wouldn’t even feed my pet frog and when you ask for super extra crazy spicy they give you a dish so mild it makes Dr.pepper sound spicy.
Been here a couple of times with family. It’s the same old taste (if you are used to eating Chinese food). The only thing I look forward to eating here everytime is their Peaches and Shrimp (not sure if that is the exact name) dish. totally delish As for the ambience of the place, the restaurant definitely needs a renovation, their tables and chairs have these gaudy covers and sheets. A total makeover can liven the place up. They have lots of space so maybe rectangular tables can be added more like wooden tables and chairs for a more modern look? (also not sure if that is acceptable in Chinese tradition but if they can rearange and change some designs on their restaurant that will be awesome) – keeping in with the trends should what they focus on (like how can they make their dishes be unique above all the other Chinese restaurants)Customer service is fairly good. waiters and waitresses prepare your tables, serve your food properly like what a restaurant should do.Anyways, given the chance to come back, i’ll maybe just order and take out and eat it at home.
I went here for dimsum on a Saturday. Same taste as most all day dimsum joints here in Edmonton. They give you a List for dim sum without the pricing so you don’t know you’re paying for unless you ask. Average price around $5.50/ dish .It’s a big place, more like a banquet. Decor is clean. And it’s quiet. I would say this place attracts more caucasians and others than they do Asians. The service is not the best. They don’t attend your table immediately and clean/remove plates as they usually do in Chinatown dim sum places. You will have to flag them down if you need hot sauce or refill of water. They won’t do their rounds to make sure you’re topped up. 2 male waiters – 1 Indian / 1 Filipino – they mostly cater to everyone else1 woman – she takes care of all the Asians since she can speak the language. Indian guy – super quiet, Filipino guy – dances, sings, sometimes loud.Other than the service. I would come back for the food. It’s probably very busy in the evening if they are able to keep a place this big.
