This was awful, ordered last night off skip the dishes for a NYE treat. Everything was soggy and the flavours were just off. Was super expensive too. Wont be ordering again and what a let down.
Amazing food, love the salt and pepper fried fish, crispy and soft inside, and the xo green bean, the best part is not too much oil. and great service too. the most important part is the food come out pretty quick.
Yesterday my friend brought me to the Shanghai grill restaurant. I found the juicy pork buns is extremely good and amazing. So as the other dishes too and great service, definitely will come back!
This place is terrible. We went there for a Chinese New Year dinner. Obviously it was Chinese New Year, so I guess the restaurant was busier than usual. We got there at 6, placed our orders within 5 mins. We ordered:Fried green bean with XO sauce $15.95 (when the dish came out on the table, we thought they gave us the wrong ones since we didn’t see any XO sauce at all, so we asked one of the lady, she said this is the right one. We tried and didn’t taste like XO sauce at all. So we talked to her again and she told us that because the XO sauce is made with dried scallop and dried scallop is expensive, therefore you can only get a little bit to taste only. Then 2 mins later, another lady came to talk to us about the XO sauce, she said their XO sauce is not spicy, if you like spicy, next time tell us you like extra spicy.)Pork slices with vegetables $16.50 (they definitely don’t know how to cook this dish, they just pan fried the meat and the veggies. And there was probably 8-10 slices of meat, and each slice is about the size of loonie and very thin.)Scrambled egg white with crab meat, don’t remember the price. We paid for crab meat price (we don’t expect a lot of crab meat) but came out with small tiny size of shrimp. We ordered more than these but none of them was good. Services was terrible, missed a dish and was reminding them we have one more dish and the guy(looks like the owner?) was telling us that they were too busy. So we decided to cancel the dish and leave. When we pay, the guy complained how everyone come to have a dinner at the same time, therefore they were running low in staff.I am a big fan of shanghai food but this one is the worst and fake shanghai food I ever had in my life. Will never come back.
Bad service, i saw in they have dan fan noddle come in oder, the guy said no, thatd somewhwere else not them! He yell and give the mean look. My first time here and not understanding the menu ask him to explain what in the combo for next time, he didnt want to explai and throw the menu on the table. Very bad service. Even if is good food, i wouldnt even come again.
Mommy and I love Shanghainese food. We especially love xiao long bao – which is great here. I can pop one in her mouth and then she pops one in my mouth. I love time with mommy.
Based on the pictures, we tried this on a Saturday night. The soup dumplings are wonderful. We also had salt & pepper prawns, Kung pao chicken and XO green beans. All tasty with some heat. Service is friendly but a bit spotty. Will be back!
