Stopped in for lunch today, the service was very quick and friendly. I had a super Donair. The meat was hot and the vegetables tasted fresh. I would go here again, but I think this Donair was quite average. This is a decent Donair but it is certainly not the best in Edmonton.
I really appreciate how hard the owners son works and how personable he is. I am always met with a smile and greeted as a loyal customer. He even delivered to me when I was unable to drive outside delivery hours. The chicken donair is soooo good as well as their pastas! I highly recommend.
Best donair poutine. If you want to try a donair poutine – that lovely French-Canadian dish infused with donair meat and sweet sauce – this is the place to do it. It may be a heart attack on a dish but it tastes so good. Their donairs are also very tasty along with their pizza. They have a huge menu that even offers up donair lasagna which I haven’t had the courage to try yet (maybe someday). Actually this review is more for their second location at 151 ave and 121 st but they don’t seem to have a page on here for some reason. This location is great too though.
Worst Donair I’ve Ever had. Thought I’d give Sir Donair a try today. Boy did I regret it. I was served a sorry excuse for a donair. Cold and old to say the least. The meat was so disgusting that I wouldn’t and didn’t feed it to my dog. The meat had a sort of nasty layer of skin most likely from having sat out for who knows how long and the veggies were wilted. The one positive was the fries were actually fresh and good, but I wouldn’t send my worst enemy to this place, complete waste of money as my donair went straight to the garbage.
They have good donairs and other food is pretty good….. But there deals are never deals 13.99 for 2 donairs 2 pop it ends up costing 17 bucks and they say recycle fee and taxes donair poutine 11bucks ends up costing 14 taxs they say. 2, 14 inch pizzas 2toppings caeser salad 2l pop 30 bucks ends up costing 35 40 for delivery guess what they say. Might aswell call one of them big time pizza companies or go cook your own save your $ fries are s/3.50… 5 bucks. M/ 5bucks… 7 bucks L/ 6 ends up being close to 9
Always great Donairs. I have been eating donairs all around Edmonton since the 1980’s and found this place to be the best. The owner makes his own sauce, is generous with his portions, fair with his prices, and is careful to make a balanced Donair. This means it is not 1/2 pound of meat wrapped in a pita. There is a nice balance of hot meat to cool vegetables and cheese, to bread, and nicely apportioned sauce for tang and flavour. The guy is a pro and has the die-hard donair fans to back him up. He never disappoints me, and I will always go back for more.
The donair sauce isn’t good, both the sweet sauce and tzaki sauce seem watered downed and not very good.
