Very small buffet with not much variety of food. I was very disappointed. Some of the food was so salty I couldn’t even eat it. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant and will not be returning in the future.
There’s a few reasons why I will not go back to Szechuan Castle:1 – although westernized Chinese food, when I came I was the only Asian dining that afternoon..and I think you can figure that comment out for yourself 2 – it was literally all you can eat Chinese mall food: bland, cold and food made in a rush. And for the price, I’d rather eat mall food 3 – the kid behind the cash, who also runs the social media aspect for the restaurant (I saw him checking up on blog ratings) should probably be focusing on providing decent customer service, instead of solely focusing on damage control via social media So far, the only western Chinese restaurant I can vouch for is Good Buddy !
Venue: Clean and cozy. You can tell its been updated over the yearsStaff: friendly and attentive. We went for the buffet. There was lots or staff on, circling tables, filling drinks, filling the smorg and cleaningFood: Pretty decent for a smorg. Of course its no Lingnan but the food was fresh and we enjoyed it. We will definitely be back. 😉
Ordered ginger beef, beef and mixed greens, pinapple chicken balls, chicken chop suey, and chicken fried rice. It was all really good and fresh! The delivery was free and was super fast (15-20min)!
The best Chinese in Northwest Edmonton that I’ve found so far. Chicken Chow Mein was above average. The noodles were firm instead of overcooked, which is rare.The dry ribs were excellent.The chicken wings were excellent.Spring rolls were above average.And the teryaki chicken was interesting. Szechuan Castle will be my go to place for Chinese delivery from now on, and I really want to come try the buffet sometime.
I went for the supper buffet. All in all it was really good! Good selection, hot, fresh food, I’ll definately be back!
I went there for their buffet. Admittedly we were there at the very beginning of the buffet so the food was hot and fresh. I enjoyed most of the selections although that’s their weekness.. Limited selection. Avoid the cold salad on the secondary buffet… For Alberta… It’s not bad!
