St.Louis Ribs and Baby Back Ribs. Smoked perfectly, juicy and flavourful in all respects. Very substantial portion sizes.
No atmosphere unless you are a trucker but hey, that is the way a BBQ place is,supposed to be!. I had the best St Loius ribs since eating in the South at Shorty’s so,yes, that is a big compliment. They were juicy amd perfectly made and such a large platter I made another meal at home from the remainder. I did not much like the baked beans and would suggest ordering something else instead. Contrary to other comments I found the service friendly and personal and am going back. The owner served me in fact. Perhaps others went there when it was going through early days but as of October 2014, it stands supreme over the dreadful stuff that pretends to be BBQ elsewhere in the city.
Consistent Brisket. I love picking up the brisket and veggies. Service is always fast and love the sauce that comes with brisket as well. Nice owner and big space.21 Jun, 2014Brisket. Went for lunch and had the beef brisket with a side of okra. Was a good reasonably priced lunch.
*Yawns*. Nah, just skip over this one. So much going on in the BBQ scene in Edmonton, and this just does not rate anywhere near. Came here and it was deserted…and it’s a big restaurant. We were the only ones there. Food was mediocre and the neither of us liked any of the sauces available on the table. We didn’t see our waitress the whole time after she dropped our food off and when we were done, we had to go up front to pay our bill. Just a big plain ol’ boring.
Underwhelmed…. Very disappointing if you kow anything about Bar-b-q……was in the area and thought how great it would be as I love southern barbeque. |||||Big …mistake. as i walked in the hostess/server looked at me and ran to the back…left me in the door.Brisket was cold, had like smoke ring, no bark and was much fattier then it should have been…as if it was cooked in a hurry.Mac and Cheese was just like the frozen Michelinas dinners my kids like…..Beans were okayut even the coke was flat. like when they dont fill the ice well and the machine does carbonate properly.Also no followup service…food was dropped. Had to wait ten minutes til I finally just went to the front to pay.Sorry but just not a good experience.At least there’s a new mexican place opening in the area. Will give people a better option.
Worst ribs ever!. I’m staying at the hotel that this restaurant is based out of. I ordered Baby Back Ribs: The ribs were so overcooked and were more like Jerky: dry and tough. The coleslaw is flavourless, but the fries were good. I will never eat here again… horrible.
Woody’s is a chain from the states. It has a chain feel to it. The food came out quick, the beans and corn bread were good and the brisket was better than I expected with great smokey flavour. Its not on the same level as Sloppy Hogs, but it’s still pretty good BBQ.
