fabulous food and finally: a restaurant where cook can cook and is able to talk about ingredients, spices, flavours, processing etc! We had an amazing meal with flavours we’ve never tried before. We took 2 curries, and the restaurant is a fusion so it even has burgers for non-indian eaters. we bought souses to go to cook at home, and both of them were OUTSTANDING. how refreshing to eat in Alberta in a place that actually CAN cook. excellent service as well!
I’m very relaxed in my eating habits but I am always leery of Indian cuisine, spicy food hates me :(. So even though I was a little hesitant to try Chachas, I was in for a great treat. I tried a spaghetti and meatballs with a tomato sauce which was crazy spicy… But soo tasty (no longer on the menu) While my sister tried the chacha burger. This life changing mixture of meats which included lamb made the burger substantial and wonderful. (I went back and tried the burger on my own) I went many times again and recently tried the coconut Thai prawns… So so so good! The best?? The dessert, I’ve got a major sweet tooth so dessert is important. Small selection but amazing. Both choices are rumoured to be a painstaking process to make. The carrot pure pudding seasonal dessert was so good I crave just that. The rice pudding they serve is also light and so flavourful!
My husband and I were looking for a place to have dinner with the kids and my brother’s family. My brother recommended Chacha John’s and I’m so glad he did. Awesome service, and the food is amazing. We had the Veggie Samosa’s and steak bites for appetizers – highly recommend them. We ordered chicken fingers and fries for the kids – I love how they bread their own chicken, it was so crispy. The fries were delicious, my husband and brother couldn’t stop eating them, as well as the kids. Everyone enjoyed the food they ordered, which ranged from the traditional burger, chicken Tikka, chicken and prawn butter chicken and beef and potato curry. No complaints from anyone, all delicious. Did I mention that they are also kid friendly. The GM is an awesome guy, you could tell he loves what he does. Always smiling and so happy. Definitely try this place out if you’re in the Okotoks area, you will not regret it.
Outstanding food at a fair price with great friendly service. I highly recommend this place. I had the traditional burger and fries today. The burger was excellent ( house made patty and bun) and the fries were amazing (also house made). I can hardly wait to come back and try the curry.
I’d give cha cha Johns a healthy 5 stars for quality of the food and friendly experience. Slightly small on the portions though guys something I’d like to see you improve on.A little out of the way near the cinema end of town but worth the trip if you love your curry!
We emigrated from the UK to Canada nearly 4 yrs ago and have searched in vain for an Indian restaurant as good as we went to in the UK. Now we have found it! The food is wonderful and the staff are too. The menu is not excessive yet as they have only been open since March, but as they grow in popularity they are planning to add more items.I highly recommend a visit to Cha Cha Johns, we will be going again and again
Declicious food, great service. Went there for lunch and the service was awesome. Food was very tasty and the place is children friendly. Definitely will be back.
