Cute decor and interesting history. The food was just okay- poorly seasoned. Appetizers were better than mains. Ill likely be back to give it another try.Adding to the last review- have been back for more cuisine and have to say the specials are spectacular! I had a dill pickle stroganoff that may be the best meal Ive ever eaten. The staff is super sweet with my small child and the desserts are never disappointing. This is one of our favourite small local spots.

We went there for brunch early on a Sunday morning. We had been numerous times before and it was almost always great. This time it was a HUGE disappointment. We ordered the Heartland Benedict. The brisket on the Benny was so tough it was hard to cut. Every bite was a chewy piece of inedible fat. We asked our eggs to be poached medium and they came out very soft. The potatoes weren’t hot enough. The coffee was luke-warm and weak. I could barely eat any of it and explained to our server that I hate complaining but I had to let them know. She apologized and came back with our bill. I was assuming my Benny would be $0 as I hardly touched it, not the case; it was discounted a whopping 10%! I told her I didn’t think it was fair to pay for my meal as I didn’t eat it. She apologized and said her head chef makes the decisions and only allowed a 10% discount on our meals and also charged us for the bad coffees. Having spent time in the restaurant industry and being in our servers shoes, I felt bad for her but very upset with the chef and management. It is complete bull crap we had to pay for my meal when it was inedible and not cooked to our liking. We are extremely disappointed and will not return because of this.

:p…not impressed…im on a restricted diet and could only chose a side..i received maybe a half cup of risotto and 3 beans and 1 asparagus for 12 dollars they charged my friend 6 dollars more for a scoop of potatoe…..when we asked why the large price for a tiny portion we were told all entrees were 20$ or more..so i guess we got a deal? strange answer we felt…not customer friendly.we just wanted a little friend time and my friends were trying to eat similar to me ..not small town friendly for sure

This was our second time here and it was terrible. First time my soup was burned, second time my steak was over done and they brought it back to me and told me the light in the kitchen was different than outside so it appeared more over done than it was. I told them I didn’t want to be picky so I ate some of it and it was completely over done so I didn’t finish it. Terrible dining experience both times. Too bad because I like to support local cuisine. I will NEVER return.

Great place for a fancy dinner, I went here and got the full rack of ribs and it was amazing, I also recommend there meat loaf that I also had, this place has good service and has amazing food.

Went for the first time tonight. Chicken Brie sandwich was delicious, soup was very good. The burger bun was very stale though which kind of kills a $16 burger, but the side salad was good. Service was friendly, but I had to flag her down to let her know our drinks had been empty for some time. Food took almost an hour from the time we ordered, so I guess don’t go super hungry? It was ok. I’m sure we’ll be back, but it wasn’t amazing like we’d hoped.

Four of us ate on a pleasant summer weekend evening outside on the patio. The service was reasonable and everyone enjoyed their meals. The indoor experience may be less attractive from the sounds of it. The food portions were large and special requests were accommodated. The presentation lacked pizzazz, but I won’t hold that against them. For this type of restaurant, its probably one of the better places in town but I’m not sure I would make it a destination restaurant.
