The owner refused to make a simple substitution to one combo due to a dietary restriction. I offered to pay for the substitution or to even take plain rice instead. They have some strange rule that is new that they dont do substitutions in the evenings. The owner was very rude about it and hung up on me. This was a large order with one substitution and we were regular customers. I think this restaurant takes too much comfort in how busy theyve become. Normally Id be very happy to watch a small, local business thrive. You cant treat customers this way and expect their support in the future. I dont know that Ive ever been treated so rudely for a reasonable request before. Not only will I not return, but Ill discourage others from supporting this business.
We ordered takeout after reading that the food was great but delivery service was bad. It took about 30 mins, they said it would take 20, not a big deal. Prices were reasonable. We ordered fried rice, dumplings, ginger beef and chicken with cashews. We were not impressed! The food was bland, very underwhelmed. The rice was good, dumplings tasted burnt and lacked flavor and seasoning, the ginger beef was ok, the cashew chicken was also very bland and boring, didn’t seem to be in yellow bean sauce like most places. I think we’ll stick to Big Rock. Disappointed after hearing such great things about the food.
