The finest Golf Course/ Restaurant in Okotoks. The Course provides great deals that allow you to golf and have a ten dollar food voucher for the restaurant. This food voucher allows you to experience the challenging course but also the unbelievable food that it offers. The service in the restaurant is pleasant and the staff in the pro shop is very knowledgeable. Overall the course provides great food, fun and an awesome experience.
I can’t quite understand how this place has received such a high score,I have lived in Okotoks for almost 10 years and the food and service here has declined dramatically yet the prices stay high! Went with friends a couple of weeks ago,very disappointing. Might be the British ownership that’s sent this once awesome place into a tailspin,and I’m from the UK !
Anniversary dinner. Today was our anniversary, so we wanted dinner to be special. The Ridge House edged out the Longview Steakhouse partly due to distance as we could stay in Okotoks and not have an extra 1/2 hour drive. Maybe we’ll try The LS another time.Because of a wedding, we ate downstairs in Orville’s Place, but were still offered the full Ridge House menu, just without the ambience.I had Veal Oscar with a French onion soup appetizer, my wife had Salmon Coulibiac with beet and goat cheese salad. My soup was OK, although it was the first time I’ve had sweet French onion soup, The veal was very good although the combination of crab meat and hollandaise somewhat overwhelmed the subtle flavors of the veal. At least the veal was cooked close to perfection. A very tiny piece of shell in the crab was slightly distracting, but not a spoiler. The broccoli was undercooked, but that’s better than overcooked. The asparagus stems were cut, not broken like I always do to determine the end of the tender part. My wife said she really enjoyed the salmon. I tried a bite, but I preferred the veal.Service was prompt and courteous, not over-attentive. All in all, a very good meal, but not great and not worth a 96% rating, maybe 80% IMHO. And I thought it was a bit over priced. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from going here, but there are a few places I’ll try before I go back.
It’s Just Okay. We have gone there several times and likely will again, but our perspective is that recently it is nothing to write home about….not exceptional that others suggest or that one would expect from a GC and with upscale pricing. Sure would appreciate if someone just fixed the broken window and washed them…yikes!There was nothing wrong; just not exceptional and I don’t know where the 95% rating comes from. I do find that all their food is tasty, but likely because everything has far too much salt in it. Our most recent visit was as a group of 6 friends and the food was okay…again, nothing special. We were disappointed with our server who didn’t really know much about the menu or wines on hand. My compliments do go to the chef, on presentation.
What a meal and location. Will be coming back for sure again and again.
FINALLY!!!!. I have lived in Okotoks for 5 years now and always wondered why there couldn’t be a restaurant with 5 STAR dining in such a classy little city? Well, last night I discovered it! Not only does Gary (owner) treat you like he’s known for years, Will (chef) is second to none and I mean anywhere! They are a class above anything else you will find! Never thought I would be planning a date night with my wife at a golf course, but it is going to be a regular occurrence!
4 Great Meals. We tried 2 of their evening specials and 2 menu items All were excellently prepared and presented.Our waitress did a fine job of keeping our glasses fullA very pleasant spot for a meal.
