I decide to come to this restaurant because of their special deal that they have posted on their website. However when we order the one dollar yakitori (chicken skewer), they said we have to order two drinks (each people one drink) to have the deal, which they never mention on the website. The restaurant has good atmosphere, but their food are definitely over price ,super small portion and low quality that’s everything I ordered and it cost $34
I tried Ikki for the first time a little while ago and I fell in love. I love getting Japanese comfort food here and just relaxing. I really like how the servers take time to talk to you even if it is just to ask you how your day has been.
Located near the quiet part of Jasper Ave, Ikki is kind of hidden but stands out slightly in a line of dark storefronts. I think the atmosphere here is amazing and the food is so tasty.
I came here with mommy after she picked me up from work. Daddy couldnt come with us. Mommy and me both like this. I eat one ball and she puts one ball in her mouth. We both like balls.
Wonderful place. First of all, the staff is magnificent. Very pleasant and charming, holds a comfortable conversation. The environment is so inviting, the chatter and the closeness of all the people still allow for a sense of privacy. The selection of sake is delightful. The cocktails are great, offering a selection of hot and cold sake. The must try’s are the Ginger Ama-Sake, Maccha-tini (green tea cocktail), and a hot Plum sake. Absolutely delicious. Majority of the staff bring Japanese really makes you feel like you are in Japan. Music is authentically Japanese as well, great tunes to go along with a great evening. The food is also very tasty, creative menu and cute platings. Definitely a drinking spot. Best for drinking and a small appetite to try explorative new flavours. The Motsuni stew and Okonomi dogs are my favourites. The fresh salad roll is surprisingly delicious for its simplicity. If you’re an explorer of new and delightful flavours, definitely spend a night at Ikki Izakaya!
WORST JAPANESE FOOD EVER! Expensive, small portions and poor quality. I got house special stew not realizing that it was pork stomach (tasted very organ-y…not appetizing). Ended up ordering chicken skewers because it’s hard to go wrong with that, right? Nope! it was cold and green onion made up 80 percent of that skewer. I don’t get why people choose to eat here…Will never come back!
