It’s cozy in here.. I didn’t try the food here but I enjoyed drinking here with my friends. The selection is good (as long as I can find a beer I haven’t tried or seen before then I am a happy camper). They even have Hitachino beer that I thought only Corso 32 had. I’ve never been to a place quite like this before. I mean, it’s small and it’s good for people who live in the condos upstairs. The bartenders are very personable and look pretty good (I am straight trust me). It feels like a middle to high end place for couples to come hang out. I would say this is a hidden gem that can impress your girl for being daring and creative. It didn’t feel like Jasper Ave while I was inside. I felt safe and comfortable and retreated from the craziness that happens on Jasper Ave.
Worst first impression. I had just gotten off work and a friend and I decided to give it a try. The decor and location are amazing and we was excited in trying something so close to home. For the tiny little venue we could not have felt more irrelevant. The bartender was more interested the in girl he was trying to get digits on. There were 8 people there including ourselves and we felt we were interrupting him. Maybe we weren’t attractive enough to be considered worth talking too, or maybe he didn’t need our money….who knows. The next time we are thinking of a wine bar to head to we will be going to Bibo, Somervilles (used to work there), or Tzin if you are looking for something small and intimate to experience. Hope the bartender got lucky, because we did not feel lucky to be there!
