I’ve been here several time just for Latin nights. Latin nights are super busy and it gets very crowded. Cover is usually 5$ . Friends and I decided to try their food one day on a Thursday before Latin night started. The waitress was very talkative (guess she was bored that night) and asked us about everything from personal to random. She was trying to up sale everything, suggesting we add sides, that it wasn’t enough food etc. It was quite annoying, we decided to have one round of beer & some food. My friend ordered the wings which was mostly bone & i had ordered the hamburger which was OK . Overall just a bad experience we ended up going elsewhere for different foods
Convenient watering hole but there tends to be seedy old men frequenting the place consistently. Gets uncomfortable trying to enjoy a drink with the wife when seeds are trying to sow. Key word – TRYING.
We came for the weekend brunch, as we had a coupon. It was pretty empty, so we were seated and served immediately. Our waitress was excellent, very chipper for a weekend morning. The food came in a reasonable time, not fast or slow. We got the salmon Benedict and the steak Benedict. The hollandaise tasted cheesier than I would like, but the meal was otherwise really good. Crunchy hasbrowns, and the scone instead of an English muffin base for the Benedict was a nice touch. Plus they came with unexpected fruit, which was nice. Overall it was a solid pub brunch, and will definitely cure your hangover.
Careful, there is a dress code!. Tried to go there with a bunch of friends the other night. We were in two cars so a few of us got there first, paid cover, got a table and ordered some drinks. Less than 10 minutes later the rest of our group arrived but they were not allowed in because they were wearing white shoes. It’s fine to have a dress code but then maybe you should post it somewhere so that we know what we aren’t allowed to wear, and really, saying no to white shoes for guys only is a pretty stupid reason to not let someone in. We all left but asked to have our cover returned since the other people in our group couldn’t come in, they would not let us have our cover back but after talking to the manager they were going to let us all in. We decided that we didn’t want to be somewhere that has dumb rules like that and went somewhere else. Be careful if you decide that you want to go to this place, if you are wearing white shoes you can’t go in! Good luck with trying to figure out what else you can’t wear!
Friday’s rock’n’hops Kitchen Party. Fantastic meal for $20, includes a beer and decadent dessert. Live entertainment is pretty good as well14 Jun, 2014Celebrating OTR’s eight birthday. Great times – great appys!!#ehgmarko
My husband and I have had 2 incidents recently spacifically with management I cant believe the lack of hospitality at this place On The Rocks. My review of this entertainment establishment is that the entire staff should go and learn about good customer service in the hospitality industry.Dont go to this so called night entertaining venue.Staff there need to be friendlier to everyone.
Wing Wednesday, thirty five cent wings are very good. Very delicious. cheapest meal I have ever had yet in Edmonton. Tip: Try the Rootbeer bbq wings
