Food was absolutely delicious, a wide variety to choose from, the prices were decent and the service was superb! Can’t wait to go back and try some different dishes
Getting food poisoning isn’t great, but it is especially horrible if both you and your date get it and it is only your second time going out! Ladies and gents, I suggest you do not go to an Asian restaurant until at least a month of dating. That way there won’t be anything uncomfortable between you two. I was so excited to be having pad thai when coming here but the meal didn’t impress me at all. We started with spring rolls and a peanut sauce to begin. Is Peanut Sauce even a Thai thing or just an Indo thing? Well we had a dish of pad thai and Moo Moo King Kai as our main which both tasted pretty poor. There was something actually really off about the second dish that neither one of us was up to eating. The best thing I had was definitely the Thai coffee beverage. And the company. Even if it became uncomfortable after! Also, shouldn’t a Thai restaurant be playing authentic Thai music rather than ballet? That seemed semi-odd to me.I definitely won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Amazing food and service. Some friends and I were from out of town last month, and didn’t have much time to eat at lunch. We asked if this place had take out and they did. Not only was the waitress helpful and friendly but they let us sit down and offered us all water as we waited for our food. Not only was the service quick, the food was delicious as well! We all wanted to thank you for being so friendly, making us great food, having such great service as well as making us feel at home. If I lived in Edmonton I would be a frequent customer!
Good food, mediocre service, decent prices. The King and Thai is a long standing Thai place just off Whyte Avenue. Had visited it for dinner many years back and found it a bit on the expensive side. However, recently had the chance to enjoy their surprisingly affordable lunch options. The menu is divided into rice, noodle, soup dishes as well as a few amazing combo options (mix of appetizer, rice/noodle & curry- a lot of food for 11/12 bucks). The food is fresh, flavorful and the fried items are not too greasy. Their poppy shrimp and pandalus chicken are must haves. The food may not be the most authentic, but it certainly delivers in taste and value. All in all, a decent enough Thai option on the southside.
Food is good but the service was atrocious. Had a waitress serving three other tables directly around us but completely ignored us for the whole night. She brought us our water at the beginning of the evening and was straight up hostile towards us. Thankfully the girl who was serving people at the other side of the restaurant noticed us was nice enough to take up her useless coworker’s work and take our order. Shame! Could be a great restaurant but definitely won’t be coming back
Average at best. Went on a Friday night and place was only half full. Service was terrible.Food was average. This place has really gone downhill over the years!
Yum yum. I’ve been going here since the old days when the restaurant was in their original location. Due to their large menu, I think that it’s really essential to know what dishes to order so that you get the full range of flavours and a nice combination. My faves are pandalus chicken, chicken satay, poppy shrimp, salad rolls, calamari for appetizers. For the main dishes I would suggest pad thai noodles, moo moo king Kai, any of the curries, nuea pad hed, galangal pork, and a big tub of coconut rice. In terms of price it may be a bit more expensive than some of the other thai restaurants in the city but the portions are very generous and the quality of ingredients is top notch. I’ve since moved to Vancouver but whenever I’m back in the city I make sure to get my king and I fix.
