Been here’s a couple of times for business lunches. The food is pretty good- I have had a burger and the fish tacos. Both were fresh tasting and good to look at and to try. The costs are good for lunch but haven’t been here for dinner.
Stopped in after a race. Been here couple times throughout the year. For a few years. .Always have pretty consistent food. Never have anything bad. Steak is always done well. Recommendations from management on food was always spot on. Lunch was really good. As per other times. Good bang for the buck. .Wish there was one closer to my house. Unfortunately it is always out of site, out of mind. But if driving by. Will always stop in. Great customer service as well, which is a rarity these days..
Horrible food avoid at all costs WORST STEAK I’ve ever eaten. I had dinner here since Google reviews had this place up at 4 stars. I ordered the rib eye medium rare and had the mikes special which came with clam chowder and a baked potato. The service was nice, polite and prompt however the food arrived cold, the steak was over cooked and under seasoned, the edges were charred and dry as cardboard. The only thing that tasted fresh was the 2 onion rings that came with the meal. Whoever they had cooking the food should be replaced. The manager offered a gift certificate for my unsatisfactory experience. Although I appreciated the gesture, I wouldn’t eat here ever again and asked him to keep it.
Mediocre at best.. After eating at the Mike’s in GP ( fantastic ), we decided to try the one here in town. What a mistake. Place was 1/4 full yet we were seated right by the entrance to the kitchen. We ordered drinks and calamari. Drinks were what was expected but the calamari probably had more taste coming out of the ocean. When the meal arrived, 2 racks of flavorless ribs and steaks for my wife and I, we had to wait for the rice and other parts of the meal to show up at the table. The utensils to crack the crab never did come as well as any wet wipes. Do not order any kind of special drink as your beer will get flat sitting on the bar while you wait for it to be made and delivered. If you’re hungry and looking to fill your belly, pick somewhere else. The steaks will fit in the palm of your hand and you’ll still have room for the veggies. All in all, a terrible experience for what is supposed to be a good steak house in Red Deer.
FAMILY DINING AT IT’S BEST!. Popped into Mr. Mikes Steakhouse for dinner. Keep hearing through the grapevine about an awesome Saltery Bay Prawn and Scallop salad. To say this restaurant was slammed is an understatement .Mr. Mikes staff ran as a well oiled machine and worked as a unit. The management were on site and very visible. In other words all hands where on deck. You really must admire them for handling that volume with grace and ease. When our food arrived it was really flavorful. My salad was just as appetizing and aromatic in a citrusy kind of way as I had heard (delish). My friend had the Bacon Mike Burger and fries. That was a big burg and he loved it. Noticed some of the best looking cocktails ever. We will go back to Mr. Mikes
I am very disappointed in this restaurant. Service was slow and I attentive. Food was….blah. I had the calamari and while the calamari itself was tender, the batter was horribly oily and overall it literally had NO taste. I didn’t even finish it. The French onion soup was very run of the mill and it was only half full. The steak was ok. Over all NOT worth the money.
Steak. I love the red mashed potatoes. But please find someone to cook the steak the first time. before i send it back to get burnt.
