ON THE SATURDAY-SUNDAY FUN STUFF TO DO LIST !. While the Sat- Sunday all you can eat is not for the Sushi connoisseurs out there. But it is pretty, plentiful and very tasteful. It’s not like a traditional buffet as you order and they bring the food to your table . Rules are you must eat everything you order and they do enforce that rule . A family eat feast for sure. Consistently awesome through the years.
Favorite Place for Takeout. Although the service is quite slow sometimes when you dine in, the takeout and delivery is awesome. For takeout it’s usually ready within 15 mins and delivery is always fast. Although sometimes they don’t always get your order so you gotta call them. I haven’t tried their sushi but I absolutely love their bento box. All the dishes in the bento box that I’ve tried are awesome. I especially love the tempura, yakitori, beef shogayaki and the agedashi tofu.
Not bad. Not great either. I have a rule of thumb. Don’t eat sushi made by Chinese cooks….
The food ok … and the services slow. Felt like I wasted my time here. They take forever to come to our table and when I look around everyone look like they were waiting and there were one table that was waiting for a long time. And the food took forever !
Dirty food and mean ice cold waitress. I ordered baked oyster. Surprisingly it came with sand and baby mussel. They did not brush and clean the oyster.Waitress attitude are hit and miss. Some seems very nice but majority of them are cold as ice and not so friendly.I tried both all you can eat and menu item. 1st, All you can eat, they add 10% on top of the all you can eat price automatically whether you happy with the service or not.2nd. There is no more kings crab and sashimi on the all you can eat menu. It is either kitchen food such as calamari, and sushi/maki. I don’t pay $30 to eat rice at a so-call Japanese Restaurant. I might as well go for Chinese buffet. 3rd the sushi and maki on the all you can eat menu is a tiny piece of fish with huge chunk of rice. Just like the other reviewer said.I def will not go back for all you can eat. I will def specify which waitress to serve me if I get to choose.
Brian Tubbs. Being from the Vancouver area we are used to world class foods. Shiso isn’t one of the restaurants that cater to educated palates. The veggies were raw! Raw can you imagine tempura with raw vegetables! Wow what a horrible surprise. So thinking this was a one off we went back to try it again. The sushi wasn’t as fresh as we are used to in fact it was getting close to it’s best before date. Not going back.
I recently ate at Shiso being that they are one of the few sushi restaurants in Red Deer. They used to be a favorite, however I have noticed a steady decline in quality of food and service in recent years. This last experience was particularly bad. The waitress gawked over my date the entire time (I assume in hopes of earning a good tip) and hardly gave me a second glance. I picked up the tab and noticed my credit card statement soon after that she had over charged me nearly double the bill. I had also left a more than fair tip on the table despite the flirtatious behaviour. To my knowledge, this is the second time I have been overcharged at this restaurant, by this particular waitress. Needless to say, I am not a happy customer and will not be eating there again.
