Ordered through a delivery app so I can’t comment on the service but the pho broth was pretty thin and bland. They were pretty skimpy on the meat, too. The green onion cake was good, but not worth going back for.
Pho Anh doesn’t have the greatest service, and is kind of dingy, but their beef satay is amazing. If you enjoy Vietnamese it is worth checking out.
Very good ph! Huge serving and it was smartly packed for my take out order. The woman at the front was super friendly and knowlegable about everything on the menu. I’ll definitely be coming back when i’m in the area!
The best pho in Edmonton will fill you up and warm you from the inside out. Whether topped with rosy, paper-thin sliced meats, luscious tripe and tendons, or floating meatballs, these steaming bowls of Vietnamese noodle soup can incite divisive allegiances and fierce debates amongst pho enthusiasts.Pho Anh meets those expectations.I rarely write reviews however after my visit to Pho Anh I felt compelled to write a quick paragraph. I had one of the most amazing bowl of pho in a while. Ordered pho dac biet(special beef noodle soup). It was exquisite! Not too sweet, well balanced flavor and the perfect color! The salad rolls were also fantastic, had variety of vegetables and excellent taste/spice! For desert we ordered deep fried banana with ice cream. It was heaven in my mouth! We complimented the cook verbally and in the most honest way – ate everything that was served to us. At the end, the cost was just over $25. It is a family owned business, food was served quickly! All in all excellent experience. Also note that it is very quiet and relaxing while you eat. Restaurant is small and very clean.I am definitely coming back in the future as the food is served very quickly and gets your taste buds running! 🙂
First visit was a surprise and then the second visit was a treachery… why is life like this?. I’ll never go back because of the super spicy bun bo hue and the sub-par 5 color vermicelli bowl. This place is only good if you are too lazy to go to Chinatown (or too scared to, because we all know it’s sketchy). The prices seem ok until your food arrives and you want more out of the dollars that you’ll soon pay. Bah. I am not even going to list out a south side Vietnamese food substitute because none are good. Just go to Xu Hue (my favorite) or King Noodle / Tau Bay (all my friends ever talk about).
Love this place!!. This place was friendly, quick, and delicious! When I called to see if they had a menu the woman went out of her way to get it to me by going to the neighboring library to use their fax machine! The soup was delicious and the deep fried wontons were super tasty! And it’s an absolute bonus that the Pho comes in a to-go bowl that you can actually eat out of!!! I will definitely be going there again!!!
Good pho tai soup. My bf and I have been living in Edmonton for almost a year now but haven’t found a great pho place yet. I went over the reviews online and saw that this place had an 84% positive rating so we decided to go.We live on the south side and aren’t willing to commute 30mins by car for dinner, then have the issue of dealing with nightmare parking downtown where apparently the amazing pho places reside. We figured Pho Anh would be a fair compromise at a 15min drive. The lady that served us brought our food out at good times (glasses of water to start, followed by appetizers, then our soup) so we couldn’t complain about that. She never checked how our meal was, but it didn’t make a difference since the pho was good.My bf and I both agreed we’d come back for the quality of the food and the fair prices.
