Mediocre everything. Had bruschette and pasta (lasagna and capellini favolosi). The mushroom and goat cheese bruschette made a bigger impression than the main meal, it was SO GOOD. The pasta wasnt bad at all, it just didnt stand out in anyway whatsoever, I felt like I could make it at home just as easily. The bread in the beginning was delicious as well. Overall, probably wont be back due to the lack of uniqueness here…
Last night was the first time I tried Sorrentino’s South and the experience was a bit mixed. When we arrived at the table there was a bottle of water (sealed) which I opened and served my family with. When we asked for more water, the waitress proceeded to bring us another bottle. It turns out each of these bottles totalled up to 14$ which I find rather dishonest. I would have appreciated someone letting us know that the water would cost so much or that we had the option of being served instead with a pitcher of ice water for zero cost…Now to the food, they gave us some fresh bread before the meal which was soft and quite tasty. It also came with dipping oil. We ordered the large Chef’s Choice Carne E Formaggi (30$). There was a generous amount of cheese and cured meats, but I wish they had given us more crostini for all the toppings.Me and my dad both ordered the Penne Mediterranean. The dish was pretty tasty and not too salty, the mushrooms and sundried tomatoes provided good flavour. There was also more chicken than I expected, which was nice. The dish had a lot of olive oil, which I found off putting, but my dad really enjoyed it regardless, so it might just be my personal taste. My brother ordered the Penne Arrabbiate and let me tell you, they did not skimp on the Italian sausage. He seemed to like it a lot.Overall, the portions seem pretty good and the food and ambience are alright but I wish they were more honest about their prices…
Had a gathering of 12 for a Christmas work dinner. Our waiter was very attentive to everything. Service was so prompt amd no one was left with an empty glass at any time. 5 of us ordered the tenderloin steaks and everyone agrees it was the most tender, flavourful steak we’ve ever had.As a potato lover, I was not very happy with the way the mashed potatoes tasted. Not sure what kind of potato is used but I didn’t care for it. Wasn’t told that there was going to be squash mixed in with my veggies and that made me a little sad as I don’t like squash at all.
Service: Friendly, prompt and attentive.Appearance: This place seems very dated. The rug needs to be cleaned or even better replaced. The chairs are worn out and the table was sticky.Food:Rigatoni Vegetarian-cherry tomatoes, fior de latte, bell peppers, zucchini, eggplant, parmgianoI found this dish to be lacking in everything except pasta. The dish was very oily and the parmigiano was clumped and greasy and there was little fior de latte (Fior Di Latte is semi-soft, fresh cheese made in the style of Italian mozzarella). The vegetables were cut very small, which is fine, but there was hardly any of them in the dish. The pasta was nicely cooked, but it was greasy. I am not to sure why they make the dish so oily, it would be so much better without the oil and with a larger quantity of vegetables and fresher cheese.Bread and Oil: the bread is fresh, but it was floury and pasty in the mouth and the oil to dunk it in was not anything special.Go Again: No
Stopped in for desserts tonight. Interior is well worn. Leather furniture is cracked and tables have finish worn off. Ordered tiramisu, blueberry cheesecake and espresso cream brle. Tiramisu has good flavor, brle has crack and is creamy, blueberry cheesecake cake is average. All three plates are presented with 90’s spoon drag decorations on plate. Restaurant and desserts may be average but the service was INCREDIBLE! Thank you Brandon for turning our dessert visit from a two to so much more.
what a wonderful waste of time and money if you know the meaning of chefs spl you will give your best of best but really disgrace awful sorry. good service good people around but food really so bad better have some thingelse.spoiler alert ……………………..not going back for sure
Disappointed. We were expecting more given the Sorrentino reputation. But the food was mediocre as was the service. Would not go back
