Interesting hybrid between grocery store and donair shop. Just ordered a simple regular beef donair. He thinly shaved the meat like deli meat. There was selection of veggies but we like it with pink pickles lettuce and tomato.. we asked him for our sauce on the side and he told us that it would 1.25. We say that we don’t want extra sauce. We just want the sauce on the side. We went back and forth a couple of times. Gotta have sauce and gotta have it on the side. Otherwise we’ll have to leave it. It was Mexican standoff. He relents and says ok I don’t want you to get eupset. He puts it on the side. OK we can move on. We pay and eat it inside the little shop. A lot of kids stop by here for eats. It was a tasty donair. The slices were deli like. The veggies could be a little fresher. Bathrooms are clean so that’s a bonus. He even says bye have a nice day as we slowly move out. It’s a nice shop in the ministrip. Everything is tidy albeit a little run down. The teens can get their junk food fix as they also have hamburgers and fries and onion rings.

This is by far my favorite and best donair shop in the city. I’ve tried a lot of good places the reason why I like this place is the juiciness of the meat combined with the cheese and the sweet sauce. All the vegetables are fresh too and they have some of the best fries I’ve ever tried too. The portions are pretty big too.

Quality donair.Got to scratch another donair shop off my list tonight. Friends suggested it as a good option in the area. They even deliver if you are in their radius.I was impressed.Small, unasuming little shop.No glitz.Solid donair.Server was very friendly and personable.Meat was well seasoned, sweet sauce was quite good and veggies were fresh. All told, my Super Donair and bottle of water was ~$10. The rest of their prices also seamed reasonable. Will I drive accross town to eat here? Probably not. Would I be very content to have this as my neighbourhood donair shop? Absolutely.

I’ve been eating donairs for a long time, and I’ve tried many donairs from many different places. I know my donairs pretty well. Everyone has their own opinion about who makes the best donair, and although it’s a very subjective category, Olympus Donair is far from the best I’ve ever had, if not quite the contrary. I don’t understand where all these 5-star ratings are coming from.I ordered a jumbo donair there and by the time I got home to eat it, which was about 2 minutes later (I live right next door), the meat was stone cold. I wasn’t watching the guy prepare it, but it was absolutely cold. My cheese was not even close to melted. The portion of meat was okay for a jumbo, but I found the meat quite bland and flavourless also. The only thing worse than a cold donair in my book is tasteless meat to go with it.In my honest opinion, PrimeTime Donair on 17 St. and 39 Ave. makes a far superior donair. I won’t review theirs here, but that has been and will continue to be my go-to place for donairs after this experience.I’ll give Olympus 1 star because I ordered fries as well and they were actually very good, but I wouldn’t order another donair here again.
