I used to love this restaurant because the service was pleasant and the food was great. However, the quality has taken a turn for the worse. My boyfriend and I were in the mood for some Vietnamese food and I recommended Pho Express. We ordered take away, spring rolls, green onion cakes, Pho and a Vermicelli bowl. The spring rolls were good but the green onion cakes were cold, bland and seemed like they had been sitting around for a while. The Pho was tasteless with very little in the way of meat, which was a shame given the traditionally delicious nature of this dish. The Vermicielli bowl had very little meat and didn’t come with enough fish sauce. Both mains were sadly unremarkable and and I ended up feeling embarrassed I suggested this place. It is disappointing that I’ll have to go further than the local restaurant the next time I feel like Pho.
NEVER TIP HERE. The owners treat all the servers like garbage and they keep ALL the tips. Food is decent but it’s run by completely greedy scumbags.They even refused to fix a mistake for a take out order because I didn’t bring the old one back with me…
I live in the grange area which is close to a phoxpress in the hamptons landing complex. My husband and I frequently go there to dine in or do a quick take out. However one day I was out with my girlfriends in the river bend area and noticed a phoxpress location there to. To my judgement I thought they 2 locations would be identical but the decor of the river bend was very grungy which was nothing compared to the openness at the hamptons location! Not only was the decor and space unappealing but the food was terrible! I usually get pad thai chicken but at the river bend location the noodles were undercooked to the point that they weren’t transparent yet and talk about overcooked dry chicken. I informed the waitress about this encounter and she said that was how it was suppose to be. Sorry but I was not aware that the pad Thai noodles are suppose to be hard as rock and undercooked as well. Will definitely not be returning to this location.

Pho damn!. I enjoyed my visit. Clean and welcoming restaurant atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection on the menu; wish I could have tried more. The ‘central vietnamese pho’ was excellent and just right on the spice scale for me personally. I will definitely be back. This was exactly what i was craving and a nice break from heavy xmas gorging 🙂
