UNDER 2 OZ OF BEEF IN THEIR SIRLOIN SOUP. I asked the manager to ensure that there was a proper, not large, serving of meat protein in their soup as we had noticed on take-out that the beef was scant on 2 previous occasions. She assured me that it would be. Got home, measured its weight and it was 1.7 oz! So really, it is a soup of about 3 cups of white rice noodles and water with a garnish of protein. BUYER BEWARE. Oddly, the chicken soup was about 4 OZ of meat protein. WE WILL NO LONGER BUY OUR PHO HERE. Also, if you wish to not have meat, and ask for more veg instead, they will charge you for the extra veg while they make money keeping their meat protein. Unfair and greedy business practice.
This is the second time I’ve been to Pho Express, and was absolutely disgusted with the way the Manager treated me. The first time they didn’t take my order correctly, so I was willing to give them a second try. When I was at the restaurant making my order I specifically told the waiter to substitute the beef for chicken he said he would make sure that the cook knows to do this. I told the waiter that this happened to me the first time I came to the restaurant that there was beef in my meal and I got home to find beef, so I didn’t want that to happen again. As a hindu I don’t eat beef. I called the restaurant and the Manager told me that I need to show him proof that it is beef and he was flipping out on me. He was rude and wasn’t even willing to listen to what I had to say. He was blaming the waiter, when its actually the cook’s fault because I’ve had two different waiters say to their cook to substitute chicken for the beef. Also on the take out box it said no beef, sub chicken. I was appalled and frustrated with how the manager handled the situation. He took no responsibility or tried to fix the situation. I know I will not be going here again.
