Once in a while I’ll end up coming here for their lunch box item. Their lunch box is $12 which allows you to fill up to as much you can carry. As long as the box is not overflowing or doesn’t burst you are good. If you’re looking to have the lunch box deal they have an open buffet for you to fill out items (green beans and beef, sweet and sour chicken, plain Shanghai or chow mein noodles, salt and pepper squid, dumplings, etc). The quality of the food here is average and a little fresher if you’re there around 12pm. This is very convenient if you’re on the go. Oh and their lunch box option also comes with a free drink.
we are repeat customers. We really like the dinner box idea, as we occasionally grab it on the way home on a busy kids sports night. We go here fully aware that this is westernized chinese food… and, if that’s the mood your in, it is tasty AFIt’s cost effective to get a bit of everything without having to buy each item separately. Sometimes when you pack 6 different flavors into the same container there’s some flavor blending, and if you put a crispy spring roll on a saucy pile of ginger beef… it’d be unfair to expect it to still be crispy after a 15 minute car ride home.I really enjoy the struggle of trying to pack the box to bursting while still being able to have the stay closed on it’s own while i pay for it.first time i felt like i was kinda getting away with something i had fit so much food in there, but that seems to be the common strategy. The guy at the front is super laid back, and has always been nice to us.
Consistent and good :). We order from Riverbend Peking House every few weeks. The quality is consistent and arrives within 35 – 50 minutes. It’s always hot and tasty :)I enjoy their salt and pepper squid the most. Their ginger beef is also pretty good.
Great Buffet.. Me and a friend when there on a Sunday. We both had the buffet. Everything was fresh on the buffet line. I found the prices inexpensive. Quiet place. The dcor is ok. Great place to bring a friend to eat and chat. The food was great, no need for a doggie bag. AAA
We ordered delivery from here tonight. The food was less than good. Everything was over battered and soggy. The dry garlic ribs tasted like the meat was old and had to be thrown out. Don’t waste your time/money and find somewhere else to get Chinese food. Sorry but I’ve had way better….
High salt, low taste – worst Chinese food in Calgary to date. This is the worst Chinese food I have had in Calgary, even worse than food court Chinese food. The chicken fried rice appeared to be Uncle Ben’s white rice with some peas and the odd piece of scrambled egg. The beef and broccoli which was VERY salty, and the beef was tough (who ever heard of tough beef in Chinese food?). The salt and pepper squid was thin, the breading was mushy, and the ‘salt and pepper’ was all salt and no pepper. The wonton soup was surprisingly not salty at all, but it also had no taste except for the starchy wonton wrappers. The spring roles were greasy and had hardly any filling. I think I will stop here. Enough said. I wonder if the quality is impacted by the lack of competition in the Riverbend area? Next time I will pay extra for delivery from a place outside of my area.
Best Chinese in our neighborhood!. We love the dinner box idea. You grab a take out container – fill it up with everything you want – and take it home for a really decent price!! Food is always fresh and delicious. Customer Service is on point and is very friendly. Great place if you want chinese – quick.
