This review is going to be different then my other reviews. Last night we were both hankering for a burger but we’re undecided between Peter’s Drive Inn and Carls Jr. It was a toss up between the two and after sitting in the Peter’s Drive Inn we made a decision to hit Carls Jr. Why do you ask? Well it came down to the quality of the burger. I feel like you don’t get much anymore from Peter’s Drive Inn. Carls Jr had a wide selection of different type of burgers for a good price. $3.99 for a double Californian Cheeseburger I’m down. The cheeseburger had that charcoal taste and was seriously filing. We ordered a poutine from this place but I feel like it needs improvement on the gravy (too salty). The onion rings here was cripsy and delicious. The value here was better than Peter’s.

Prices arent terrible, they have deals going on, as well as giving student discounts (15%). The flavour of the burgers is good, and its a clean looking burger. It also tastes pretty fresh. Not like a pile of messy slop you might get elsewhere for fast food. Sides were tasty (fries, onion rings, jalapeo poppers) Not my favourite burger place, but solid and I would definitely return.
For a fast food joint, I think Carl’s Jr was great. It’s a tiny bit more expensive that the others (MC, A&W), but the quality was much better. Yes, for 2 people, it’s easy to spend more than $30 there, but the burgers were tasty with all the fresh fixings. The patties were thick and well seasoned, not like other places which you know you are eating bland cardboard and questionable protein sources. The staff was very friendly and considerate. I think Carl’s Jr is well worth the price. Also, one has to consider their serving size is quite a bit bigger than the normal fast food burger joints. If you pro rate it, I think this place has exceptional value.
