Ordered take-out. Food was nice and hot when it arrived and it only took about 30 minutes. Delivery is free for orders over $25 which beats most other options in the area (besides pizza). Service was friendly.I ordered a couple of my favorite dishes from their buffet: sesame chicken and singapore noodles, as well the black pepper seafood dish. Overall, good value and very generous portion sizes. It was nice that the seafood dish came with some veggies as well. My only complaint is that some of the chicken was a bit dry (maybe deep fryer isn’t hot enough?) but I still enjoyed the meal and would order again. I will probably do the sliced chicken next time as it seems to be pretty tender when I get it at the buffet.
Just experienced refusal of service for the second time at Empress Palace… Extremely disappointed in the terrible customer service and will not be going back!
I wanted something light so I bought #5 Dried garlic ribs…and they sacked. Couldn’t find a piece of meat in the heap of deep fried bones and fat that they gave me. Couldn’t eat it. I called the restaurant and the lady was rude, unapologetic and she made it seem like I was the problem. Told her I wanted a refund which she eventually gave me but that was after I had to explain and explain and explain myself. Won’t be going back there anytime soon.
Spring rolls were good. Not sure if there actually Is any beef in the ginger beef. Chow mein noodles clumpy. And frozen veggies in every dish.
The other night I placed an order at Empress Palace. When the order arrived it was wrong, called the restaurant, the lady on the phone was rude unapologetic and charged me for a second meal just to receive the correct order.Food was so so.Won’t ever spend any money there again.
NOT GOING BACK EVER. Rude service, plates were dirty, food were disgusting and over charging us when we check out.
Should have listened to reviews. Most of the food was seemingly similar quality to most places. Our problem revolved around the preperation primarily. Squid and dumplings very lightly cooked. They were the dumplings u always get but needed a few more mins on the fryer. Yucky jello insides and silky outsides. Never had em come like that in my 40 years. Almost threw em in a frying pan but never did in the end. Same thing with the squid. Was a little worried when i saw how light they were fried and the inside was definately squid tar tar. The squid is out in the backyard on the deck because it was so strong smelling. Our 6 year old insisted squid was killing her so i figured ths would be a good place for it for the moment. Chic balls seemed good white meat and good quality frozen pick. We arent asking for much more than that really. I mean making some tempura and dipping in chicken and cooking is 1000x better but seems unreasonable to ask for these days. The sketchy brown meat in the rice worth while to pick out-otherwise good. No problems with mixed veg dish, wonton soup or the fortune cookies lol. Is chineese food really that hard to make good? Frustrating really.
