Decided to try a different Japanese Restaurant in the area. In a lot of the reviews this place is being compared to Roku, which I’m not sure is fair. It’s a small family owned and run restaurant, which is the exact ambience that they’ve achieved. The server was friendly but not that attentive – understandable because it was just the husband and wife running the entire restaurant, hence the mom and pop shop feel. If you’re looking for a relaxed, quiet and non-rushed environment to eat a meal – this would be it.The food was good, particularly the sushi rice which was soft, not clumpy, but still held together. We ordered1. 8 piece tuna and salmon sushi $14.952. Agedashi tofu $5.95- I liked how they used firm tofu cut in rectangles. Even the piece at the bottom was not overly soggy despite sitting in the pool of sauce for awhile3. Ming Tau Go $4.95- aka Pollock Roe – it’s a different texture with a salty finish. My husband liked it but I’m on the fence about the taste.4. Hotategai $3.15- aka scallop sushi (ordered 2 pieces)5. Ikura $2.80- aka salmon roe (ordered 2 pieces)6. Shake Skin Roll 8 pieces $8.95- salmon skin, salmon, and eel sauce- I liked how it still kept the crunch of salmon skin and the sushi rice doesn’t crumble once you bite into it.Total Dinner $49 + tip
Waited for an hour for the food but there were only 3 tables, and they said only 20-25 mins wait. Plus the fish is not fresh. Ramen had no taste at all. And we ordered an assorted skewers but all we got was pork with vege, we thought it was supposed to contain chicken or beef.I rather pay more for a better service.
