This used to be one of the restaurants I would go for Pho. But today would be the last time. We walked in, sat down & was given the menu. My friend ordered #48 which was the Peanut Satay Pho. The waiter said that they dont have that dish anymore & that to come next time. That was it. She gave no suggestion to try something else or even mention to us at the beginning when she gave the menu that a dish will not be available. Not even that. At least put a label on the menu that an item is discontinued or change the menu. She was just blunt & picked up the menu & said goodbye. What kind of service is this? Never returning at all. There are other new Viet restaurants that have opened in NW & I will take my money there.
Great food. The satay beef pho is the best in town, if you like peanuts, which I love. We drive there just for the satay beef. The green onion cake is really good. Staff are friendly compared to other Viet restaurants. Clean. Portion size is good. One of my favorites. Definitely recommend.
I just ordered shrimp salad rolls during a weekday lunch hour and they did not taste fresh at all. The shrimp tasted a bit vinegary and the wrapping was a bit tough. Would definitely not go back for salad rolls again.
I don’t know why the rating is so low. If order for you to get pho quality like this you would have to drive down to forest lawn to eat. It’s not my top 5 for Calgary but it’s close to it. The broth seems slightly better in the 17 ave Pho Hoan and that’s my top 5 in the city. I don’t rate for service but this place has better service for a viet place.Btw just come down for pho and nothing else.
Misleading hours. Got there at 9:05 and was notified by the server that they were closed. Though the hours on the sign outside said they closed at 10pm. Very disappointed
It’s expected to receive less or simply mediocre service at pho restaurants. However this was not the case! Staff was very friendly and checked our table consistently to make sure everything was okay. I do not have knowledge of authentic, home made pho. But to me, this was great! The broth had a great flavour (most important!) and they were generous with the meat. The restaurant is quite large and pretty nice and clean. Great stop for a cheap, hot bowl of noodles in the NW!
My wife and I love this place. My favourite is the seafood noodle soup with the sate beef broth (you have to ask for it since it’s not on the menu). Their sate broth has a perfect balance of peanut, depth of flavour, and heat. Love it. Service is great. Place is big and clean. Bathroom are nice. Can’t complain.
