Spaceport… I mean Airport food is a tricky thing. You’re limited to your selection and the prices hurt the bank! This tapas wine bar can serve your needs well if you play your cards right. Service was friendly and courteous. They never hesitated to top my colleagues glass of water. I had 2 small appetizers of honey figs and prosciutto with canteloupe all accompanied by flatbread crackers. I also took a glass of cider. It rang well under $20 and my tummy left satisfied having avoided airline food. It’s nothing to write home about, but remember, at this spaceport it passes the time nicely and is a nice change from Tim Horton’s! ludicrousfeed.wordpress.com
Huge disappointment. There is an awesome wine/tapas bar at the Seattle airport so I was quite excited to arrive at Calgary airport and discover they had a wine tapas bar as well. I walked down to find it vacant so walked back to another restaurant only to find it jam packed. So I ventured into Bubbles. There was a limited selection of wine and it was nothing too exciting. But half decently priced. I ordered the green salad. I guess I didn’t look too closely at the menu as even at 8.25 I was expecting something more than a little bit of lettuce mix on a plastic plate with a few cherry tomatoes and slices of cucumber. I decided I needed something more substantial so I hummed and hawed but finally ordered a cheese plate for $18.50. I wouldn’t have hesitated if I had known it was slices of Brie and another cheese, crackers, figs and a fruit spread on a plastic dish! NEVER AGAIN.
Quite Delightful. I was very pleasantly surprised by Bubbles Tapas and Wine. We had six glasses of wine and a fairly substantial charcuterie/olive and cheese plate, called the antipasto platter, for $75, including tip. Given that I was expecting a fully pre-packaged plastic tray by looking around, this was pretty darn good.
