Another dingy bar. We had the sirracha pizza. It took 45 minutes and the waitress pretty ignored us until we asked for the bill. The siracha was chicken..pineapple. . Bell peppers… onions. It was bland without the sirracha sauce. It did not reheat well…. not sure the cheese was even real.
Above average pub food. The food here is very very good. On this visit we had the pierogis to start. They were very good. The broccoli soup and buffalo chicken sandwich as my main. Very yummy. The service is very good as well. I find the pub to be very dark. The lights are normally on a bit too low. But the food is always very good.
It’s a reliable place to go for us for amazing wings on Wednesday nights. I would say it’s one of the very few best wings in Calgary. The wings are always so juicy. The dry ones are crunchy on the outside and soft and tasty on the inside.
I have been in the service industry all over the world for 15 years…and this place presents one of the worst experiences you will encounter in your life time, or the next. They don’t accept debit. What place in this hemisphere doesn’t accept debit??!! Welcome to this century! Not only can I not pay for my meal, the ATM, which at this point is an extremely apparent cash cow for a bar going south, isn’t working either. I feel for the staff in this place, who have done a decent job, because I can only assume their tips are taking a beating for the obvious neglect and absence of the ownership. My condolences for all who work in this place, because I can’t imagine they’ll have jobs for long. Yet another bar in Calgary on the brink of bankruptcy due to the negligence of people who have no business owning a social establishment.
Food here is good! They have breakfast on weekends which is good. Servers are nice and it’s a nice atmosphere..can just get a little noisy at times. Only real downside is they do not take debit which can be a little inconvenient.
Breakfast at pubs. I woke up today and decided I needed to have some eggs benedict, or I’m going to never be happy again.I was also extremely lazy, tired and impatient, so I realized the best thing to do was find some bennies at a nearby pub.So I went here, got my hot chocolate and ordered my bennies.Presentation on the hot chocolate was nice, got the whipped cream on top with a chocolate drizzle on top. Taste was lacking, it seemed very watered down.My bennies came quickly, presentation was terrible.But really what can you expect from ordering a 10$ breakfast meal at a pub, so it’s quite understandable.Nice thing about the bennies here is that you have the option of ordering 1-3 bennies.The hollandaise was really good, not too lemony and was supper buttery, I did feel like they over poached my eggs and under toasted my english muffin.But! Again, this is a breakfast meal at a pub, so I wasn’t disappointed at all, I was pretty content with what I got and that the meal came with a giant pile of hashbrowns, not only did you get ketchup but also some tabasco sauce too!So lesson of the day, with you are impatient, cheap and okay with a mediocre breakfast, go to a pub.I could’ve gone to Ihop, or humpty’s, but I really wanted to try pub breakfast for some reason.29 Nov, 2014Wings are alright. I came here to meet up with some old buddies a while ago.Service is good and fast, my only issue with the place is the burger.We ordered burgers and wings, the wings were good and flavourful, but the burger was terrible. The buns were burnt, yet the bottom one was soggy which was strange because the patty was burnt and extremely dry.The potatoes were also dry and the gravy it came with had a odd taste, very different and not good at all.This is a place I would return to, but only for the drinks and wings.
Can’t use debit. What a scam!!. Their food is good but they run their debit scam. You can’t use debit so you have to pay ridiculous amount to use their atm. It’s the only place I have been that does this. Not very customer friendly.
