Mediocre food at average prices. Honestly the food I got wasn’t terrible, but was nothing special either.They provide no special items, no deals (except 5% off on pickup) and really average. The ginger beef wasn’t spicy at all (listed as spicy) and the sauce is watery and hardly there. Same story with sweet and sour pork which came with an astounding 2 pineapples.Speed is quite fast for pickup and they are polite.While I don’t think they are terrible… there are much much better out there.
I use to eat here however the last couple of times (over 3years) the food has been horrible…… I’m not sure why I keep think it will be good

Very Disappointing. We’ve lived in McKenzie for nearly 13 years and used to frequently order from this restaurant. The quality of the food has been steadily declining in the last few years. We ordered tonight and we will never be ordering there again. The flavours of the food are bland and overly salty, and they continually cut costs by padding food with celery and onions. Their chicken and cashews in sweet bean sauce used to be all chicken and cashews. Over the years they started adding celery. Tonight, I spent $9.50 for this dish, which was literally 3/4 celery and 1/4 chicken and cashews. Not only that, but the sauce was thin and almost flavourless. NEVER again. That’s just ripping customers off (not to mention it is not even mentioned on the menu that celery is in the dish!). The ginger beef was sweet and mushy and had no ginger flavour and hardly any kick to it at all. You want REALLY good Chinese food, go to Silver Inn in the NW. Best ginger beef and chicken and cashews in yellow bean sauce (NO celery!) in town, awesome salt and pepper squid, and really — everything there is great. I’d rather pick an order up from them across town to bring home (or better yet, eat there) than ever go to Douglas Peking again. Nearby Chili Island Chinese and Thai on 130th is also much better. Some advice Douglas Peking: improve the quality of your food, and stop padding your dishes with cheap vegetables so you can maximize profit. Your customers deserve better.
TERRIBLE TAKE-OUT SERVICE I’ve ordered from this place for 10 years and have recently been extremely frustrated by their rising prices, change in menu specials and their overall rudeness over the phone. They charge delivery when not warranted and simply tell you to order somewhere else that’s cheaper. I would definitely recommend anywhere else no matter the price.
I love Douglas Peeking Express. So I always order the Wor Won Ton and Steamed rice. I’ve had my favorite soup at lots of places but this is my favorite. Veggies are not overcooked. Broth tastes good. Lots of stuff! Highly recommend!
