We finally ate at this local food truck which we always see around Sherwood Park and it was fantastic! Hubby had the Gringa (whole wheat grilled tortillas with pork adobada, pineapple, onion, cheese…and he really enjoyed it. Eldest had chicken taco, which he gulped down quickly. More filling would have worked better for him, but fortunately he also ordered the Flautas Cochinita with three rolled and fried corn tortillas stuffed with pork and served with salsa Mexicans, feta and lettuce for a bit of a salad. I got to eat one of the cochinitas and I highly recommend them! Excellent pickled onions with it too. Youngest ordered sirloin taco which he adored but was still hungry so we should have ordered more. Fortunately my order was huge so I shared with him. I had the Torta Cubana, which was a fresh baked bun sandwich filled with crispy breaded veal, garlic sausage, lovely thick slices of ham, refined beans, avocado and a delicious chipotle mayo. Awesome! We tried a few sauces too and they were fantastic. My youngest loves hot sauces and the two he chose did not disappoint. I highly recommend this place for those looking for some amazing Mexican street food.
Stopped for tacos today. Ordered two tacos and a Jarrito and waited about ten minutes for them to be prepared. Tacos seem to be short on filling with average flavor. Flavors are improved with one of there Several sauces you may choose from to top your order with. Ranging from sweet to extra hot.
This is my favourite food truck! Their food is always hot and fresh. The Gringa is delicious, I love the combo of cheesy tortilla, pork, a spicy sauce and the pineapple. Their sauces on the side are really great as well. I will definitely be going back!
The fish taco was just ok. If their tortilla was a bit bigger and sauce a little bit more mild it would have been spot on. The fish was cooked perfectly. The staff was also really nice!
The staff is super friendly. The tacos were good, but nothing special. Glad I tried it but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get food here a second time.
The Gringa’s with their homemade chorizo is an absolute must! Fabulous, fresh and authentic mexican cuisine with friendly, informative service.
Probably the most enjoyable Mexican food experience in Edmonton. The food is delicious and full of flavor and it is authentic Mexican cuisine. The portions are generous too. I’ve eaten here several times and not once been disappointed. I highly recommend the Hugo Taco, and the Gringas are all good. They’ve got excellent fresh salsas in bottle that you can add to your dishes as you please. As far as ambiance goes, the truck has a very nice design which is full of color. And what beats eating out on the street? I love that when they are parked at the Sheewood Park location there are chairs to sit in. Nothing more authentic Mexican than an outdoor food joint! Check out their Facebook page to see their schedule and location as it varies somewhat.
