This place is packed. The hockey game is on and the room is cheering even though it is not a local team. VLT s, pool table, music, tvs and power boxing. Bartender is alone. This busy lady is doing a great job alone. Stellar service. Ordered draft, vodka, and nachos. Nachos are loaded with cheese but chips are old also served with a large portion of sour cream and salsa. Note this a super casual bar
I can’t atest to the 94% rating everyone else is complaining about. That certainly seems outlandish. But really. What do people expect. It’s a diner. In a trailer park. Attatched to a pub and a gas station.I’ve eaten at Willy’s dozens of times over the years (perhaps more…). Mostly when working in the industrial area to the north of the Yellowhead. I have tried almost every pizza on their menu, and all their burgers and sandwiches.I admit…the entree’s and pasta’s have never really spoken to me.For the most part…i’ve always left satisfied. Prices are reasonable. Food is pretty consistant, and still way better than any fast food burger joint. They also let you call in your order and they can have it ready and on or almost on the table when you arrive. Pretty convenient when one only has a 30min lunch break!Pizza is pretty good and the individual sizes hit the spot. It’s not fine dining. It’s not trying to be fine dining. But as a hole-in-the-wall lunch/dinner stop…it does just fine.Keep it up Willy. I’ll be back. And then…I’ll be back again one day.
I always get takeout (typically lasagna) and it is delicious! Not necessarily the fastest, but then again I am ordering lasagna and it comes out piping hot and fresh. No complaints here!
Disgusting. I could end it right there with one word, but as my stomach roils from the greasy brown crap they call call ribs, calamari and fish, I have to say a couple more things: The pizza crust is quite good (my friend ordered the donair pizza which I think is never a good thing, but I tasted the outside crust and yes, the homemade dough definitely gets a thumbs up). Everything else was one step below carnival food. Brutal. Deep fried and brown. It’s the kind of food that you, literally, feel like gagging on after about 3 bites. All of the meat tasted like … feedlot sludge. We went because it had a 94% rating. Unfortunately, that speaks volumes for food in Sherwood Park. If you take away the 9, it would be more on target.
Surprising. It doesn’t look like much, but the food here is better than you’d expect and the service is friendly. I’ve been in a few times over the last year and things have been consistently good. It’s diner food, but it’s made well. I love their pizza’s. The crust is delicious and reminds me of the good corner shops in rural neighbourhoods back east. The pizza sauce, which I believe they told me is homemade, is tangy and nicely seasoned. The burgers are hit and miss but usually good too.If you’re around the area, it’s worth stopping in.
I wasn’t expecting much, but it was good. I had a sandwich, the pizza looked real good.
