Great food and great set of staff. I have been to alot of Opa’s around the city and I can honestly say this is one of the best spots. The food is always cooked right and the staff that work there are super friendly and always make me feel welcome.
Not as good this time around. Dropped by Opa for lunch, and ordered the pita meal – beef, with fries. Service was courteous and fast, as they do cook to order – granted that some items are pre cooked but just warmed up on the flat top.The beef for the pita wrap resembled little brown nuggets, and they gave me 4 of them. They weren’t tough, but not exactly moist/tender either. It was more on the chewy side, so if you chomped down on a nugget you had to chow down on the whole thing. The fries weren’t as golden crispy as the last time, in fact they were more on the soggy side.Despite this, I’m still leaving my ‘like’ for this Opa location.18 Jun, 2012Scrumptious for fast food. I did a review for Opa at the U of C location and overall the U of C location was very good. Would the Westhills location be any different ?Went to see a movie on Sat. at the theatre, and since it wasn’t opened yet we decided to grab some lunch at Opa. Got there about 10:30 am, so it was very quiet. I ordered the donair and fries combo plate. We had to wait a little bit for our food to be cooked, but no big deal as it didn’t take very long – 5 -7 min approx. The fries were piping hot, as it was fresh out of the fryer. My guess is they use ‘frozen’ fries, but they were good, fried to a crispy exterior and nice and fluffy interior. The Opa sauce they use wasn’t bad but I found it a little on the salty side. The donair was scrumptious. The pita bread was toasted on the flat top creating a crunchy exterior, which I found enhanced the overall texture of the donair – the first bite you hit is the crunchiness, then as you proceed you get the tzakiki sauce then the veggies then the meat. The veggies were fresh (minus a wilted and yellowing romaine lettuce, it was only one piece), romaine, diced tomatoes, red onions, all in their tzakiki sauce. The sauce was incredibly creamy, but like the fries, I found it to be on the salty side.Generous amounts of donair meat rounded the entire wrap. The 2 guys on duty that day were friendly and courteous.Overall, a pleasant lunch.
Opa!. This is the best Opa I’ve eaten at. It’s always fresh and fast. Friendly staff. I like that they don’t skimp out on the tzatziki .
Always super friendly staff and tasty fresh dishes. I will go Back!! 9 of 10. Aug 27 2015: I picked up another salad and special fries, still as good as ever!!
