I really wasnt a fan of this restaurant at all. Came here on a whim after driving past it several times on my commute and I dont think Ill be back. The decor in the restaurant is awful. There are tons of oddly placed pictures, cloths and figurines that you notice right when you walk in. There is a cubby wall in the middle of the restaurant is stuffed with pillows and stuffed safari animals which immediately threw me off because do you clean those? the food is also really overpriced for the flavour, quality and portion size. The flavours of the food really didnt blend well and the only thing I didnt mind eating was the tikka chicken. But even that wasnt spectacular, just edible.I wouldnt recommend africana to anyone and was really disappointed after wanting to try this place for so long.
Had a fantastic experience at Africana. I have been looking for a good restaurant that served West African food. My mom and I ordered the whole Talapia platter with Ugali and Spinach Curry and it was big enough for us to share. It was SO good, tasted very authentic. Unlike the Ugali I’ve had elsewhere this one was cooked properly so that you could actually use it to eat with, just like you’re supposed to. Our server was friendly although he was slow and inattentive to us. However, the quality of the food was totally worth it for me and the price wasn’t too bad either. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to others.
We got takeout from here and it was absolutely horrible! Both of us got sick the next day, had severe stomach pain and had to spend the entire weekend in and out of the washroom. Stay away from this place! If you want African food, go to tiffin or safari grill!
We tried beef rib and it was awesome . more important its halal , if you request. I would go again and again just for Ribs….So YUMMY …Hmmmmmm
I would give 2.5 star make sure you check your bill becaus chuma the owner they have a bad habit they are thives if you dont see your bill if you order 2 items they will try to out 3 ot 4 items if you are in a large group the server Nasir is great but the owner is piece of shit too much attitude and poor or louse service aware of you bill they are called chor in indian language
Delicious food, good service. I had the chicken Hakka and it was delicious and filling. I will try medium spice instead of mild next time though.
