Need to keep reminding myself of this place whenever driving by McKnight and Deerfoot and need lunch. Why eat at wendys or tims when there are pans upon pans waiting for you of fresh handmade spinach and ricotta canelloni, and gnoicci, and eggplant parmesan and….. and… omg.Had the canelloni and double cappuccino for about 12. Melt in your mouth delicious.
The food was good, we shared the Croquettes,Eggplant Parmesan and veal Parmesan , its a busy place,i am not a big fan of self serve but it was fairly efficient , I liked the market ,lots of neat stuff, however the restaurant table eating area was really dirty and had a dumpy feel to it, the harried staff were polite but seemed over whelmed, I wouldn’t refer to this place as a gem……but the food had a real down home feel to it and I would come back.
I like this place, it’s a little out of the way but worth looking for. The cafe is a gem. The grocery store is handy, it has a good selection of Italian items, including a fantastic deli counter. My complaint is that it still feels too much like a specialty store, with prices to match. It isn’t going to replace Safeway. But it’s a great spot for lunch.
Had a wonderfully tasty sandwich here today at lunch. Very fresh ingredients, meats popping with taste, quick service. Sandwich is drizzled with olive oil. The restaurant is part of a grocery store and has been a mainstay for years… Definitely worth stopping by if ur in the area.
Fantastic, very fresh and delicious food. Go here 1 – 2 times a week to meet family for lunch. Go early to ensure good selection as it sells out quick for lunch!
