Probably not the best OJs location in the city but its not bad. The service here on a Monday night was a bit lacking and the tacos that were on special were not good at all. I ordered a fish taco and it came with dry shredded pieces of mahi mahi that resembled canned tuna. The Cobb salad was pretty good though. Ambiance is decent and the place was clean.
One of the better Original Joe’s locations I have been to, overall. Ended up here on a Saturday night after we misjudged the popularity of the newly opened Rec Room and didn’t feel like waiting in a huge line. We weren’t the only ones, OJ’s was packed and there were many people who came close behind us looking for a table. This location is not huge, but the staff seemed well prepared and handled the crowded restaurant efficiently. We didn’t have to wait long for a table at all, our server was friendly and attentive. Food was decent, though two of us, myself included, ordered the drunken noodles and were kinda disappointed with the portion size for the price. Overall, no complaints though. The difference here over other OJ’s we have been to was the staff… they made the difference and for that reason, I would return to this one over some of the others.
Confession: I love OJs (and their sister restaurant State and Main). Its a great go-to choice for my friends and I – one of the few options we all can agree on! They have a good menu with lots of favourites to choose from. In the last year or so, though I pretty much only order one thing- the salmon burger with garden salad and fries (with dill dip!) I like most things Ive ordered (fish tacos, Kims burger, west coast chop salad, beef dip, Mediterranean wrap) but I almost always come back to the salmon burger. I love being able to pick 2 sides (what can I say? Im easily impressed). Their garden salad comes with apple, goat cheese, and a couple of sweet potato chips. Their fries are ok – pretty typical chain restaurant fries – but for some reason have been almost burnt on our last couple of visits. Weve gone for brunch every now again but their brunch menu is fairly limited. Overall, a solid choice!
