Usually get Skip the Dishes from these guys and the sushi always tastes good and is fresh. The tomago nigiri is fantastic, as is the toro. The salads are a bit boring, as are the miso soup but overall the food is very flavourful.
Excellent. One of our local go-tos. Opulent, not terribly expensive, wide range of choices, very accommodating staff. The servings are beautiful to look at as well as delightful to eat!
Nice hole in the wall, it’s a small joint but the portion sizes are very decent and generous. Very quick service as well. Will come back for their lunch specials
This is a quaint little place which serves very interesting rolls and is a great place for vegetarians also. The sushi I had here was fresh and always delicious. I have been here dozens of time and have never been disappointed, been here for lunch and dinner. I love their rolls and the ingredients for each roll. The only thing I hope for this place is that they expand their menu, more hot foods to choose from. The Sashimi is sliced thick which is great! Even for their lunch bento box. This place is a must try!
Small portion. Piece of roll was rather small for the price. Rice on nigiri sushi was rather hard and crumbles as you pick it up with a pair of chopsticks. Overall the price compare to the quality is imbalance. Will not be back. If I’m paying that price, I get get much better quality food at authentic high quality Japanese restaurant
Came here after seeing some reviews and looking through their menu. Only ordered rolls, which were pretty decent but not like amazing. The one with the calamari on top was pretty good like a 2 in 1 roll and appetizer. Some of the sauce on the rolls can be a bit excessive so maybe they should go easy on it? Service can get slow when its busy, it took awhile for the lady to even get our orders and then for our rolls to come.
Visited Kimu due to a friend’s recommendation. And it was very disappointing trip. I gave it 1 star only for the friendly service, which is very much appreciated. But it couldn’t save the food. We ordered toro sashimi, which is expected to be fatty tuna belly. The tuna came out in big cut but lacks of freshness, and has none of the fat. It’s no different than a regular piece of maguro. Quantity over quality may be ? So if you come here may be just order the regular tuna. You may end up having the same type of fish anyway, but for a cheaper price. And not to mention the special Softshell crab roll. The batter of the fried crab is way too thick & hard. I ended up just ate the rice & omit the crab. I also order hotate sushi. In the picture it displays just fresh cut scallop over sushi rice but when it came out they put a thick layer of Bbq sauce on it. It’s so salty, the sauce kills all the natural sweetness of the scallop. I couldn’t finish it. We also ordered other variety of sushi & BBQ squid but nothing stand out. May be it’s a miss for us today. You may have better lucks.
