We moved to YYC five years ago & The Trop was recommended to us. Back then, it was a friendly local that served pretty decent food and had a welcoming atmosphere. We’ve visited several times over the last few years. However, our last two visits have been less than stellar. Both times, wait staff were completely indifferent to us (15 minutes to get a drink order, another 15 to take our food order, no check-in on the quality of the food). It felt like we were doing them a favour and, in return, they would–as their time permitted–serve us. Extremely disappointing; we won’t be back.
