Fresh hot pita bread, all puffy and steamy hot.Get in my belly.A pita haiku for you. Try this place, it won’t disappoint food-wise. Service is a little patchy but the food of so good it’s worth it. I LOVE the garlic sauce.
This place gives you a feeling of Middle Eastern cafe’s. We had the chicken and mixed shawarma. The chicken shawarma was lacking the hummus but had a great taste to it. The mixed shawarma is a mix of beef and chicken and it tasted really good. I would recommend going back to this place. The staff was friendly as well.
The location is great; however, the food is okay but not great. I have made several lunch visits and noticed that it is quite slow due to only having one server. Some of the food items I would recommend are the Lahem Ajeen and Sahn Foul but, would avoid platters due to the bland salads and cold meat. I would visit again for lunch due to location but not for any other reason.
Terrible place, dirty restaurant, awful food…don’t go there! Trust me i know what lebanese food is really about and at this place it’s totaly not worth it!
Absolutely exceptional. Caters very well to gluten allergies. Very well priced, a true gem of the Edmonton food scene. Genuinely the best hummus i have ever had in the city at a restaurant. Service is prompt and to the point even for a small family restaurant. Will visit many more times in the future.
The good – Al Salam is a flavor punch from the crispy za’atar pita chips to the meats (I’ve had the beef, chicken, and kabobs) and the hummus and garlic sauce. The star is that garlic sauce as it goes well with everything! I love the huge pitas you get that are so filling too as they are deliciously chewy and great for dipping or turning the platter into a wrap. The salad and rice are excellent sides if you need something to round out the meatfest. Of all the meats I found the kabob to be the most consistently moist and flavorful. Try it at least once! The bad – I found a hair embedded in the meat/rice once. I understand it happens but it really turned me off. The food was picked up for an office event so it wasn’t like I could complain at a company function. I find it’s a bit disorienting to order take out as I wasn’t quite sure where to go and who to order from but it was all sorted and the service is quick. So not too bad at all.
Done both takeout and sit down, both are very speedy and equally delicious. The hummus and garlic sauce is amazing, and the chicken shawarma platter is the best hangover cure
