We heard about this place from my wifes coworker. I consider myself an avid donair connoisseur and have to say this place was average at best. We got chicken donairs with fries. First, the fries were decent. They were hot, fresh, and crispy. My wife enjoyed them more than me. However, the donairs were subpar. I have long been on a quest to find a donair worth talking about in Edmonton and once again came up short. The chicken donair included green onion and mushrooms (things not typically found on donairs in my experience) and also typical toppings such a lettuce, tomato, garlic and sweet sauce. The more I ate the worse it got. The mushrooms were rubbery and in my opinion ruined the donair. The meat was tough and lacked flavour. I could not really taste either the garlic, sweet sauce, or hot sauce (pretty sure it was franks). Anyways other things may be good on the menu but if you have taste buds that know a good chicken donair I would recommend trying somewhere else.
Amean’s King Spicy donair is one of the most addicting pleasures I’ve found in Edmonton. The hot peppers match perfectly with their sweet sauce. Every time I’ve been here, I’ve received a good sized portion of well seasoned and prepared meat with enough veggies to taste and sauce in every bite. All in all, a perfect donair.More importantly, the staff are the friendliest in the city, in any restaurant. I have felt welcomed like family on every visit. I leave in a better mood, with a smile on my face as well as a full stomach. This alone makes me come back again and again.
