Was there last night for supper. We ordered haddock and chips. The haddock was very good, light batter and perfectly cooked, not greasy at all. However, the fries needed a huge improvement, the last time I was at Britts was about 4 or 5 years ago and the chips were excellent, very similar to a real English chippy. The fries we had yesterday tasted almost like they were reheated. They were very tough, could hardly stick a fork into them. They certainly were not made from fresh cut potatoes. They also were hard and sharp enough to cut gums. Also the vinegar could not penetrate the hard shell of the chips.I would recommend the fish and many of the extras, however, I would recommend caution with the chips.psI am a transplanted Brit and have eaten many fish and chip meals in Britain. I miss the News of the World wrapping and the use of fingers, using a knife and fork wasnt considered proper etiquette
