My spouse had brought me to this cute little spot to try out a new place near us. It is so neat and hip inside. They really put effort into the appearance of this restaurant. From the chandeliers to the booths. As for the food. We had the fresh lemonade which reminded me of mom’s homemade. The fried squid was perfectly cooked. We also had the spring rolls which were a substantial size and delicious. You can tell they are homemade not store bought. And the spicy beef pho has the perfect amount of noodle, spice and everything nice haha! I would recommend this place to friends and family.
Beautiful and clean restaurant, however the food and service is what is lacking in this place 🙁 disappointed the last two times I gave it a try
So this is one of those modern looking pho places that seem to be popping up everywhere. I ordered the crispy fried squid which was standard deep fried chew squid. Nothing special. I just wanted it. Sophie had Lemongrass Tofu apparently that i cant find on the actual menu. Apparently she said it was mmmm so good. So Ill take her word for it. The Pho Dac Biet was pretty regular as well. It contained brisket, flank, tendon, tripe, beef balls and fatty flank all in a filet mignon noodle soup. I had to put chili oil and hot sauce all over that thing to have a grain of flavor. This is the kinda place you go to when youre hungover and either ran out of choices or just needed pho ASAP Rocky. Its located on 34th ave near Calgary Trail and thats not good because theres 3 really good restaurants in the area that are dope as hell, one of them is Wendys. The service sucked especially when there were maybe 3 waitresses with less than 25 percent of the restaurant was seated and it took about a 15 minute span to get everyones food on the table. Ridiculous. Took them even longer to refill water, that is like day one stuff. When you have to go up and ask for water, service is bad. Dont bother coming here, unless you go next door to Noodle Feast.Sal says: Just skip it@swcheung says: I got the lemongrass tofu vermicelli here, which is delicious. Pan fried cubes of tofu, peppers, onion, and crispy garlic pieces. If you want better service, I recommend Mini Mango or Doans for the same dish.#yegeats #yeg #food #foodie #foodporn #instafood #delicious #yummy #lunch #pho #vietnamese
I love the pho from this restaurant. The broth is excellent–very full flavoured and rich, and comes with a good serving of verm noodles. It also comes with beans sprouts, fresh basil, and chili slices for you to add as you like. Ipho is clean, and modern. They have stunning glass chandeliers, and a cool ambience. My only issue with this place is the owner, who has extremely heated arguments with her staff. It was so loud, the whole restaurant stopped to look…it was very uncomfortable. My sister and I had only ate about 1/2 of our pho and decided to leave as the yelling was making us uneasy. Reading the reviews I see that this yelling is a common occurrence. The owner (hopefully she reads this), needs to get herself in check if she wants to keep her business afloat. Its great food and service, but the yelling is unprofessional and doesn’t make guests feel welcome.
Lovely modern set up – probably the best Vietnamese Restaurant in terms of decor and cleanliness. The food however is average. Portions here are decent however it can’t make up for the lack of authentic Vietnamese flavours. Also, the beef in the beef noodle soup was not of great quality and tasted like frozen beef meant for steam boat/hot pot.
Food was great, the peanut sauce for the salad rolls taste good and soup #28 taste good as well. However, it took them 30 minutes to finish and I find the portions too small for the price. I could order the same amount at Pho Hoa for $12 (max) and here I had to pay $17+. The 2.5 rating is mainly for the owners’ professionalism, I was waiting for my food and then I hear yelling and all the profanity exchanged was unappetising. One of the cooks (an older gentleman) had to stop them. It was so inappropriate and awkward. My food had been sitting on the kitchen counter but no one bothered because they were busy fighting. Also, not sure if the lady just has a loud voice but she appeared or sounded like she was yelling at the workers. She has a very thick accent that’s hard to understand, I dont blame the kitchen helpers for not understanding a word she says. I dont think I would come back. Everyone has to contribute to the overall ambience of the restaurant and it should start with the owners.
Umm…The service, the presentation of food are all very good. The soup was tasty, but made me feel there are too much MSG put inside…. Will definitely come back!
