The food at Mikado is always amazing. The service is pretty fast for a nice restaurant like this one. The employees are welcoming and the restaurant is really clean. 10/10 would recommend to anyone I know.
Placed a last minute order for a sushi tray….picked up and everything was in order. Normally request 24hrs notice but they accommodated in 1.5hrs. Well presented and came with everything you need to bring to a party. Wish there were more sushi than the filler rolls (cucumber maki)…no substitutions…but in a pinch it was decent. Fish was fresh and tasty…but the price point seemed a little high for the items provided….next time I will just order off the menu vs. Party trays.
Came here on a Tuesday for dinner. I like that they take online reservations. I was at the mall near the Edmonton airport and I booked a table for 20 minutes later. When I arrived there was some confusion on the reservation but it was all fixed. We had not been to this location before. It was nicely lit and decorated and not too loud.We ordered a spinach salad, regular green salad, tempura udon, camrose roll, and Coast to Coast boat. The spinach salad was a little small but the green salad was huge – albeit the dressing was a little milder than most Japanese places we’ve been to. Udon was for my son and he happily slurped it up. I tasted a bit of the broth – not much flavour; a little bit better than hot water. Plus only thing in it was green onion – no other veggies. So a little sparse than other places we’ve been to. That being said my son ate it so fast so obviously he liked it so that’s all that counts.Camrose Roll I didn’t like. I thought it would be spicier with the spicy tuna.Coast to Coast. Came on a realistic looking boat complete with fisherman’s netting. The kids thought that was cool. Good assortment of sushi and sashimi and all tasting very fresh.Service was great. Food was great (even though I did not like the roll). Waitress and other staff even wished us a Happy Anniversary which was a nice touch. I had put that note in our online reservation.A little on the expensive side but if you’re in the mood for great sushi/sashimi this is the place to go. Will definitely be back.
