I’ve been going to New Asian Village for a while now both before and after they expanded the buffet. I only do the buffet here so I can’t speak for the menu items. Service is always friendly and efficient, never a dirty plate around for long. The buffet is clean and always freshly stocked. It’s cool you can see right into the kitchen to see them preparing items.I went about a week ago for dinner and really enjoyed the selection. There are now spring rolls (probably the frozen bulk kind but I love these!) and deep fried fish which are really fun additions. Bite sized fish snacks are totally up my alley. I also liked the chili chicken which is extra spicy and the cottage cheese cubes in sauce, I can’t remember the name. I usually stick with my favorites and I like the lamb curry but I wish they would change it up and offer goat curry which is my all-time favorite item. The naan is always hot and fresh and I could stuff myself on those alone. I hoped for some samosa or potato patties but a girl can dream. Note the chocolate fountain when I went last was just cocoa powder and water. It was not real chocolate. Fooled me! I forgot my jacket at the table once and a guy from the restaurant came running to my car with it. How nice is that? I’ll be back again soon, I know it!

A great assortment of East Indian appetizers, entrees, and desserts, always with freshly charred naan bread. Can’t go wrong. My only complaint ever would be the odd dirty dish or cup – so check it out before you eat or drink out of it – but that wouldn’t stop me from going again.A must-dine for Edmonton.

New Asian Village is a great option if you are looking for some (average) Indian food. The buffet is actually quite enjoyable, and the naan bread is so tasty. Prices are a big steep, but worth trying at least once!

The buffet here has many items to choose from with vegetarian options as well. The food is alright with some spice and there is plenty of it all for $20.99. Not fancy service but I will be back

Great Indian Buffet. I eat at this restaurant about once a month. I love Indian food, but it doesn’t always love me! 🙂 They have the typical items you will find in most Indian buffets, but they do several items better (in my opinion) than most. Their butter chicken is really tasty. I like to finish up my meal by just putting butter chicken sauce on a plate and sopping it up with nan bread. Tasty! Their lamb curry is easily the best I have had and their chile chicken seems to be a somewhat unique item as I don’t often find it on other buffets. It is a nice treat. My only complaint is that their tandoori chicken is dry, but I find this to be the case more often than not so what do I know?

*WARNING* – MEAT IS NOT HALAL!. To my utter dismay, I found out that this place, and I’m guessing the other ones in the chain, is not Halal even though they claimed they were. No certificate could be shown to me. No invoices, suppliers, nothing. I was very disappointed as a lot of us Muslims go here for this very fact. It is a very part of our religion and we have been manipulated. I understand the meat is probably more expensive and it’s better quality, but there is no need to lie about it. Just say it isn’t Halal. That is a very serious issue. Nevertheless, I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

Not really good…. Expensive on dinner. Plates are old.. not too clean, and food was not traditional taste. Seems quantity but not quality
