Won’t be back. Our family has been to Pearl River many times over the years but after the experience we had tonight..none of us will return. After a long day of work we decided on Pearl River for take out..we ordered beef and brocolli..sweet and sour pork…lemon chicken and szechuan beans..everything..EVERYTHING tasted awful..to the point that we threw away most of what was on our plates..the lemon chicken tasted stale and the lemon sauce was watery..the beef and pork were so stringy and hard to chew that you couldn’t even swallow your bite..and had no flavor at all..the beans were undercooked…the whole order was terrible..I phoned to complain and was treated very harshly by the manager..telling me that because three different cooks made our meal that I had no reason to complain..and that I didn’t know what I was talking about because everyone else in the restaurant enjoyed their meal..I’m happy for them..i would have liked to had said the same..but alas our meal was terrible..after asking me if I wanted him to do anything about this..of which I told him yes, that we work too hard for our money to waste it on food this awful..food we couldn’t even eat..he abruptly said he would refund our money…so we drove back to the restaurant for our refund..I even brought all the uneaten food just in case he wanted to see for himself…once there..he continued to try to argue with me about how I was unreasonable and couldn’t possibly know what I was talking about…he didn’t care that the food was awful..he only cared to try to convince me that I was wrong…being treated with such disrespect and in such a condescending manner is the nail in the coffin on why we will never be back to Pearl River. If the manager had truly listened to our complaint and kindly responded without treating us like morons who don’t know what decent food is supposed to taste like..we would have considered giving Pearl River another shot down the road. ..but not after that kind of treatment. There’s WAY BETTER places in this city to enjoy tasty food..with happy respectful service than to waste time..energy and money on a place as disrespectful and terrible tasting as Pearl River. Uck.
My favourite Chinese food in the city.. I try to get here for special occasions. I always love the food. The Szechuan beef is delicious. Last time we went, we had made reservations. When we mentioned to the waiter it was a birthday celebration, the dessert was on the house.
Had dinner with a friend last night. Had the combo dinner for two, more than enough, although, we cleared everything! Tasty tasty tasty! Great service and decent prices, will definitely go back again.

User reviews. Gluten Free Shrimp in Paradise Sauce is absolutley the best. Many many other Gluten Free options too. Go for the Mushroom Fried Rice or Singapore Noodles.
David makes some good Chinese food. Most Chinese restaurants sport over sauced dishes that have been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. Pearl River is a departure from this. The food tastes fresh and its often tough to decide which dish you liked best because they are all quite good.Our Family are regulars at this establishment for takeout and dining in, they have excellent gluten free options. The owner David is a Gem, if you get a chance chat him up, he has some stories.The staff are very respectful in my experience, albeit not very chatty or outgoing.My only grief’s with Pearl River would perhaps be that the portions of some of the dishes like the lettuce wraps are too large. that and the location, which isn’t really close to anything at all.
