Gross Gross Gross. Tried to eat the weekday lunch buffet – but ended up leaving hungry. Don’t waste your time or money with this one! Although parts of it were decent (the service was good and the hot and sour soup was pretty darn good!) the vast majority was almost inedible. The ginger beef was full of cartilage and ligaments, the noodles were burnt and salty, the chicken balls were doughy, the green onion cakes had turned into hockey pucks and everything looked and tasted like it had been under the heat lamps for a very very long time. Nothing new came out of the kitchen while I was there to refill or replace dishes under the lamps. My table was not properly cleaned before I sat there and the condiment bottles were disgusting and sticky.
Very good and very authentic Shanghai dining. I was quite surprised as there are very few truly Shanghainese restaurants in the city. Very cheap and the mini buns are awesome. I give it a 5 out of 5.
I love it! Been coming here for years, and the food quality/pricing is excellent – especially the buffet! Service can be a little slow, but very personable, and the best pork steam buns I’ve ever tasted. Give it a shot!
