Was expecting something like 5 guys. Our welcome into the empty except for 1 table was like listening to crickets. The disgruntled teenager with sloppy hair barely said anything. We were here due to free cheeseburger with purchase of burger. We had fries… fresh but broken small pieces. Burgers were small with large price tag. The thing that put us was the cashier/maybe cook. She was at the till but later was seen fingering all the cheese slices that stacked all in the table.. 10 lbs of cheese out… bleh.. we just prayed we didnt get food poisoning.
Is it just me or does everyone just get that random urgent craving for a juicy burger? And by urgent I mean, you start salivating just by thinking about that slice of beef between cheese and bread and your mouth just wont stop drooling. Yup, that was me in between the natural food section at Superstore in South Edmonton Common. Didnt get very far before the bright shiny sign got my attention,The Burger Priest! Yes! They opened a location all the way south, convenient? No, not really on the daily but in this case, I was in a crisis and it was there. Lucky me. Last time I had Burger Priest was when they first opened their location Downtown, I really enjoyed their burger, especially Peters Denial. This burger run was a less indulgent one. Their lunch special had their standard cheeseburger with an order of fries and a drink all for $10. Heck Ya! We both had an order of that and decided to share their Mint Chocolate Chip milkshake.($4.95) The satisfaction of that first bite into that burger was gratifying. The patty was juicy and meaty with residual fat juices dripping down and soaking the bread with extra fat and flavor. I had given their downtown location a pretty high rating before and its trailing for this location too. Biggest difference was service here, everyone was really friendly and the wait for food was barely 10 minutes. The consistency of delivering such satisfaction between both locations with just a simple burger, remarkable. Milkshake was less impressive, being more watery and not as strong in flavor than youd expect from the name. Portion of fries was kind of ridiculous, definitely could have shared just the one bag, but we got to snack on the rest of them on the drive home. Youre getting your money’s worth with the lunch special for sure!
I was right beside here working & decided to stop in to give there burgers a try I got the high priest burger $14.46 with extra cost for fried onions which seems ridiculous since burger already had onions on it but that’s fine. The burger was good better than most but no where near places like the burger joint or Clive burger.
One of my favorite burger places opened up in the dirty south. It is definitely inferior to the downtown location as the burger’s just wasn’t as good, can’t put my finger on it but just wasn’t as juicy. That being said, it’s still a very good burger but only poses a threat to Five Guys which is also a very good burger.Sal says: Just Try It (3.5/5)
Located in South Edmonton Common, we decided to give this location a try to see what it was about. The spartan decor gives the place a definitely uncluttered look. My Wife and I decided to try the cheese burger with bacon as it is a staple of any burger joint. The bun was very soft yet it did not fall apart in your hand. The vegetables were crisp. I found the meat to be on the verge of under cooked with just a very little light pink showing in the center of the burger. I also did not detect much if any spicing or flavour in the obviously hand made pattie. The fries on the other hand were awesome. The were cooked properly and had good flavour. Both my wife and I had a majority of short pieces in the fries making mr think they use smaller potatoes.Overall I may or may not go to another one of these American Chain restaurants. to me the burger is the prize and I prefer one with meat that is properly seasoned hence the 4 out of 5 stars. Your mileage may vary. rwpett.wordpress.com
Lunch at the Burger priest. This location has a nice patio with comfortable seating. Restaurant sign claims to serve lunch in under 12 minutes, we will see. Inside there are common tables with bar stools seating and a few table height two person tables. Restaurant is black and white design colors. No line up and only one table seated. Menu is burgers and hotdogs with fries options as well. Ordered The Tanker, a spice chicken breast with blue cheese on a bun. My lunch was made in less than 12 min even though I did not order the $10 special. Chicken is breaded, deep fried, thin and dunked in hot sauce. Bun is disappointing in flavor and size for the chicken. Two slices of tomato, one leaf of lettuce and a small portion on blue cheese finish this burger. Disappointing stop
I went with my daughter to this restaurant which is close to my home thinking that it serves good burgers. The food was terrible I am never going back, the fries were very soggy and black the burger was not fresh at all. It was very small veggie burger and all it tasted was greasy cheese. They use very low quality food. Disgusting yuck!! I do not recommend this damn restaurant at all 🙁
