It’s a great little place for a quick lunch. Working on the south side and getting sick of the chains this is a great little gem with unique flavoured perogies! I love that they often have different a variety from tex mex to shepherds pie to your basic potato and cheese. The meatballs are a tad salty but that creamy gravy is great! This is a local family owned and run shop so don’t pay too much attention to the less than stellar interior but they begin to know their regulars and they’re always quick to get you in and out. Come in with the right expectations and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
The perogies are amazing. Some of the best I’ve ever tasted. In my opinion, the space could be refigured, and the empty freezers removed. The whole store could use a good cleaning and the decor brought up to date. Not sure of their business plan as it appears they only cook a few at a time. I had to wait while they microwaved my sausage. Odd. I will be back for takeout because it’s so dam good.
Dry, nearly tasteless, no onions, no bacon, no ham. YUK YUK YUK.
The Congenial Wendy. I won’t go back to Wendy’s and there were issues about the chewy, doughy, cold perogies that would justify that.Overriding the food, though, is the cantankerous and abrupt manner in which the proprietess, Wendy, treats her clientele. She could use some remedial customer service training, that much is certain. We’re paying her overhead, and she is one of the rudest hospitality staff I’ve encountered in years.
Outstanding. I ate here for the first time today and was very impressed, I’m not sure what kind of service people expect at a diner but the service was great, it is counter service and they are very efficient, perish the thought that you might not be the centre of the universe and would have to wait while other people get served. As to the food it was outstanding if you think Cheemo makes better per ogives I feel sorry for you as you have no idea what a perogie is supposed to taste like. I will definitely be returning
The worst service. I order take out for 3 combo. When the older lady finish making 2 of our combo. She told us to move aside so she can help the people behind us because there might not be enough food for the people who were in line behind us. She didnt finish filling our 3rd combo. She wanted us to wait aside. We made a fuss we were here first and she should finish filling our orders. That’s not right. We wanted to leave but my boss wantec to try the food. People should not go there. Absolutely the worst service.
Well the service was awful… She kept rolling her hand signaling me to hurry up faster then I could get words out of my mouth. Should have left that second. Perogies so dry, disgusting cabbage rolls and hair in our food. 2/3 people in our group had hair in their food.
