This is the best breakfast in the neighbourhood. Straight up flattop diner fare. That doesnt say much for the state of restaurants in this neighbourho…

Very disappointing. We went here because the reviews were good and we were looking for a breakfast place in the South because they roads were slippery…

A total dive but the breakfast is great and often busy on the weekends. Sometimes they run out of cutlery and you have to stir your coffee with a fork…

We wanted to go try Atrium Cafe at the Delta, but they were closed so we looked for a random restaurant nearby to replenish our energy and ended up here for lunch. Hidden in the Stetson Inn, 99th Avenue Cafe has a surprising amount of good, natural sunlight that unfortunately shows dust on its mirrors. The interior has a green and honey theme going on, along with neutral grey green walls and a brick feature wall. It’s not the prettiest, but it was cozy. The club sandwich I got was decent and satisfies like a club sandwich should (I love my club sandwiches). My side of poutine did not come with cheese curds, but it looks like a melted mixture of cheeses was used (cheddar, mozzarella, and possible something else?) which I thought was interesting. Overall, not bad.The Mushroom burger had a creamy sauce that tasted like cream of mushroom; it was good but was not the savouriness that was desired. The patty was a bit charred which adds some rough texture, and the cream sauce does solidify/settle after a bit of time. The menu was a bit misleading because it says ‘choose any side to accompany your sandwich/burger’, but this leads the patron to believe that it’s included in the price, which is not true. The price for the sides however, are listed below; the menu just was not intuitive in that regard. The waitress was very friendly and was nice about letting us in when they were closing soon in the afternoon. Overall, 99th Avenue Cafe is not something to go out of your way for, but it’s a nice little diner if you’re in the area.Disclaimer: This was experienced and written in 2013 and does not reflect a ‘recent’ review. wetastefood.com
Solid diner, good breakfast and good service. It’s another diner that keeps the balance in Calgary’s somewhat pretentious restaurant scene.
I don’t know who’s writing the reviews on here but, I’ve had a better breakfast at the Blackfoot truck stop. I had the mixed grill. The gigantic pankae smelled and tasted like oil, and the centre wasn’t cooked. The bacon was way under cooked and the sausages were cooked 4 days ago. And for some reason my poached eggs showed up in a vat of margarine. The GF had fish & chips, the only good thing was they were fresh out of the freezer. Service wasn’t bad, not friendly though, did their job. And as far as the decor,,, well let’s just say, 1981 called,,, they want it back.
Great food, good prices, nice service. Decor is horrible but it’s a hidden gem. Great place for a nice hearty breakfast. Will definitely be going here again!
Went there or hangover breakfast recently. My waitress was a total babe and her service was amazing. The fire starter omelet was delicious!
Favorite breakfast place. I have been going to this cafe weekly for about 2 years now since i accidentally stumbled upon it one day! All the waitresses know me by name and know exactly what kind of drink to get me upon my arrival, which seems to be a normal thing there as the waitresses know a lot of the regular customers. They just got new menus with an increase in prices but for a nice fresh homemade breakfast i won’t be complaining too much. The food is always made fast and is served nice and hot! The menu has all kinds of options, whether you’re vegetarian, a meat-lover, starving, or just want something small, they will have exactly what you want and are good about substiutions (i always get a pancake instead of toast with my meal). the waitresses will never let your coffee cup get empty since the coffee pots are practically glued to their hands. I go every tuesday and am always greeted by the same two young waitresses who never make you wait more than a minute to be served. It’s a rare thing to see servers actually laughing (not the fake laugh for tips you see at most chain restaurants where the waitresses look miserable) and that is a thing i see every tuesday when i go which makes the experience much more enjoyable because i can tell they enjoy their jobs. From the outside this place looks a little divey, but you will not get the quality service or food anywhere else! I highly recommend this hidden treasure
It’s a hidden treasure in the SE of Calgary! Great food. Especially breakfast! Great holiday decorations! Friendly and good waitresses that work there!
