Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to drink some beer, watch some sports and to eventually have dinner. Walked into the lounge and it seemed like the only person working was a male bartender that was busy tending 3 or 4 tables because the female manager was too busy just standing around doing nothing. I seated myself at a table and the bartender eventually acknowledged me and said he’d be right over. About ten minutes later he took my drink order and quickly returned with a beer and a menu. I ordered some wings, he brought more beer and I watched my sports. A few beers in I finally decide to order a Smoky Mountain Spaghetti and Meatballs. When my meal came out it looked ok, but really dry, so I asked for more sauce. Sauce came in a small ramekin. I ate and enjoyed my meal, drank a few more beers ordered some dessert and requested my bill. When I get my bill I was surprised that they had charged me $3.00 for a tiny ramekin of pasta sauce without telling me. I brought this to the bartenders attention and he pretty much shrugged it off saying Boston Pizza doesn’t include a lot of sauce anymore and customers are always complaining about it. I asked why he didn’t tell me about the additional charge, he was told that he doesn’t have to?! Long story short, I took the $3.00 off his tip and told the female manager that was pretty much doing nothing the entire time I was there that I would never return to this location. Horrendous service
It’s been awhile since we have been to this BPs. Started with cactus cut potatoes and it just as I remembered it to be- crispy, little bit spicy and love the dipping sauce. it was perfect for sharing. There were so many new items on the menu I had to take some time to look thru it. I’m sometimes afraid to deviate from my usual fear I would be disappointed. But I decided to take a chance and try the shrimp tacos today and I loved it! The shrimp was battered nicely and was crunchy with a light aioli drizzle with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, crispy tortilla strips and cilantro. My husband got his usually spaghetti and meatballs and always a giant portion with enough to take home for later. We sat in the lounge and service was great. We would come back to try other new items.
This used to be our favorite place to come with our family. The service here has been getting worse and worse with every visit. And the food quality has gone down too. This last time I visited this location will most likely be our last time back.
I usually come here for pasta Tuesday and so far out of the BPs I’ve been to this one has the best tasting ones so far! Would recommend coming here for this deal!
I’m usually not a huge fan of Boston Pizza; when anyone asks to go to BP I immediately associate it with : mediocre food, subpar service, ho hum overall.So when a group of us headed to this particular BP on a Sat. night, I had zero expectations. I don’t believe they accept reservations, it is first come first served. It was relatively busy, but we were greeted quickly upon entrance and when we told them the number in our party they quickly went ahead to clean/assemble the tables.When the rest of our party arrived, the table was ready and off we went. I have to say our waiter was pleasant and had an aura of professionalism about him. He was attentative, and had good knowledge of BP’s products.I ordered the pizza burger, as it was rather unique. Food service was a tad longer than expected, but really nothing to write home about. My pizza burger w/ fries arrived hot. This pizza burger is a monster, as it is quite large. I liked how the exterior was golden brown (unfortunately the bottom was burnt), a nice big juicy pattie inside, with bacon abound. I have to admit, I was impressed with the meal. It was also very filling. My only complaint about the meal was when they wrapped the burger inside the pizza dough, the bottom was very thick and doughy, making it a chore to eat.All in all, this location was decent. I was wrong in their service and food, and the whole evening was pleasant.
Great Service. There is a nice variety of food at Boston Pizza and anyone that has dined there knows that it’s ‘good’. Nothing fancy, but a ‘what you see is what you get’ type food. What made us really enjoy our experience at this Boston Pizza was the over the top service we received over a recent lunch. The server and the manager would consistently come and check on us to make sure everything was OK. Our drinks were always topped off, our food came out quickly and cooked nicely and when we were done eating, our plates were immediately cleared off the table. This is becoming a lost art in Calgary, especially at restaurants that aren’t considered high-end. We will be back.
Poor quality and over priced. Night manager was extremely rude and unhelpful.Don’t waste your money.
