I have come here on and off for ten years….i really enjoy it.no complaints.
Never Again.. We use to order delivery quite frequently from here. It always took an hour or more to get to the house but we would order early to get it around dinner time. One night we were getting ready to dig in and the black bean chicken we ordered was rotten… I mean really badly rotten. The smell was horrible. It was one of our regular dishes we ordered so we knew it wasn’t a sauce issue. The chicken was slimy. We ended up throwing out all of the food just in case something else was rotten too. We will never order there again.
Takeout. We ordered take out from Szechuan House on friday afternoon. Normal stuff like chicken fried rice, schezuan beef, green onion cakes, spring rolls, honey garlic pork, beef and broccoli, chicken balls and pork chow mein. We were so dissapointed with the food. We spent $78 on chinese and ended throwing most of it in the garage. A first for us. I don’t think I would have fed my dog this food. The beef and broccoli was mushy and looked liked it had been sitting for a long time. The szechuan beef and honey garlic pork were chunks of grissley meat we couldn’t identify. Green onion cakes and chicken balls were both doughy and under cooked. Not much chicken in them balls. Spring rolls had lots of curry in them, not sure if they were made there? In short it will be a long time before we come back again if ever. Gross, sorry szechuan house, we are headed back to Ray’s in spruce grove:)
What a Treat!. My family, friends and I often go to the Szechuan House and have always found it to be a treat! A wide variety of items on their menu, all of them delicious. Pork dumplings, onion cake, special shrimp dishes, squid… need I go on? The food is always fresh and hot. The couple running the restaurant have always been very friendly and accommodating. We booked the dining room for a 60th wedding anniversary and they allowed us to come in early and change the table configurations and decorate the tables and room. They hired extra help for the evening and did everything they could to make it a success. All 30 who attended commented on how fabulous everything was. Their daughter Alicia is a delight to visit with if you eat in, but they also deliver.Bonus – no MSG. Try it; you’ll love it!
They hate customers. We were in town one day, My wife, 8 year old son and me, we were not really hungry but wanted to treat my son to a quick light meal, we had allready had super. We went in the restaurant and asked for one of the combo meals and two plates, we were just going to split it between my wife and son as I was sick. There was one other couple in the restaurant and she said no you need to order your own no sharing. I explained that I was not eating only my wife and son. I asked again for just one combo then and no extra plates she said that is only one meal you have three people, I said no sharing, I said my wife was now the only one eating, she said OK it will be a 1-2 hr wait as they were very busy, screw them, I will never go to a place like this again, they do not deserve to be in business!!!!! Drive them out of town
Worst Chinese food place ever! Worst chicken balls. Worst pineapple sauce. Worst wonton soup. Worst chicken fried rice. Sweet and sour pork was actually beef with sweet and sour sauce on it. The Szechuan beef was disgusting. All around just the worst place ever I promise you.
